Stayed at The Jane for Halloween, as I wanted something a little fun and different from The Bowery (sister hotel). Rooms were spacious, well-equipped but definitely felt a bit 'budget'. The downsides are no room service, no lifts (and no door man to help you up the stairs with your luggage) and bed is not all that comfortable (no luscious...

I stayed in a single cabin room. There was no drama with the shared facilities but I would imagine with that many rooms served by so few bathrooms there could be a traffic jam at times. The good: clean, neat, tidy, cheap, quirky, quiet (I stayed on the fifth floor), with really great staff. The bad: the elevator is as...

I stayed for a week in NYC with my daughter and wanted a place in a good location & affordable - The Jane is both. In addition it has a lot of charm, is clean, and has friendly staff. I will definitely stay there again on my next NYC trip! If you come by car, there is a lot right...

This was my pick because I wanted to avoid the 'Marriots' of the city and The Jane fit the bill. We loved the design of the whole space including the attached cafe. Tthought and effort went into the feel of the space, so if you like good design this will please you. The hotel is a bit out of the...

The Jane Hotel has a perfect location for visiting the jazzclubs in Greenwich Village. It's also close enough to the subway so the rest of the city can be reached easily. The small room I stayed in was no problem and even to share the toilet and barhroom was no problem at all.

Daughter and I had one of the bunk rooms. Was exactly as described so was expecting the tight quarters. Quaint and memorable. We each had small carry on luggage and was manageable with some planning. Each bunk had its own TV and window AC worked great. Shared bathrooms were again manageable as I was prepared for it. Did see other...

Of the 4 hotels I stayed at in NYC on this trip, The Jane was my favorite and the one I will remember. It was the tiniest hotel room I've ever stayed in, but it reminded me of a first-class compartment on an antique train. A lot of effort has been put in to giving it the feel of a...

You can't beat the price considering the great location of the hotel (in the west village). Prior to arrival I loved reading the history of the hotel, that it was a flop house where surviving sailors from the titanic were placed. Our room was in a quiet part of the hotel, after reading a tip from another review that some...

We stayed here for three nights. We got into town early and were able to check in with no problem. We had a bunk room with the shared bath. Rooms are extremely small and are for sleeping and resting only. They do have a lot of hooks and drawers under the bed to store your clothes and items. The lighting...

The Jane is a very cool-looking and affordable hotel in NYC. Know what you're getting into as the rooms are tiny, and for most of the rooms, there are no bathrooms but instead, shared bathrooms at the end of the hall. My room and the bathrooms were spotlessly clean, and I hardly ever saw another guest in the bathroom over...

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
