The Mercer is a challenge to review. It's very special, the neighbourhood is dreamy, it has some flaws and it's wildly over-priced (and yes yes, so are all its competitors). So here goes. I loved the Mercer's entry. This is a lobby to sit in, work, chill, do whatever you want. Eat something beautiful, drink a bad coffee (again, we...

I have travelled for 25 years to New York - mainly on business trips but also for holidays on half a dozen occasions. Due to proximity to the music corporation my label had a deal with I used to stay at the Four Seasons uptown on 57th St. They give fabulous service , decent menu and wine list - all...

Sorry for the delay in review. Stayed here in mid- December with our 3 teenage children. The rooms are very clean, bright and quiet. Perfect location in Soho. There are great mini bars, beautiful bathrooms and love the amenities. Booked through the hotel and Peter in reservations was very helpful in making sure we reserved the perfect rooms for our...

Attached to the restaurant is Mercer Kitchen which serves an excellent breakfast. The lobby/bar is great for people-watching and you never know who you will see. This hotel is one of the trendiest in Soho a great spot for a weekend of shopping. Don’t be surprised if you see a celebrity – or paparazzi outside waiting for one!

Me and my husband visit NYC every december due to a congress my husband has to attend. Since we love SOHO we stayed at the Mercer twice already and it's really the best location you can choose in NYC. Across the street are Moncler, Miu Miu etc.. and down the street on west broadway are all the art galleries, my...

The Mercer hasn't lost his idiosyncratic soul and its unique Soho's understated charm. One of the rare place in New York to have maintained its style and standard. Great staff in every sense, charming and helpful 24/24 Efficient but quite expensive room service. The room is perfect, soft and refined colors - no noise double windows on Prince street -...

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing. The clientele adds a fun and interesting element. The staff treats everyone like a honored friend. Great job. I would recommend it to anyone. Semmy and Timothy are rockstars in my book. Looking forward to many stays in the future.

But they know how to charge for it too. You don't get much change from 1,000 bucks a night if you eat breakfast and say one other meal. That said, despite our visit being in the midst of NYC fashion week, with consequent pressure on rooms, and paparazzi constantly outside the front lobby to get a view of a celebrity...

Mercer hotel is located on the corner og Mercer and Prince str., in the midle of SoHo. Very good location and relatively quiet (to be in NYC). Very gentle and good staff (you do not notice that they are there). The hotel is expensive (more than 20 usd for a botle of beer from the minibar!). The lounge/bar is very...

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
