We were very pleased with our long weekend stay at the Larchmont! The hotel is clean, the staff is very professional, the place is central, we walked to and from Central New York, we like to walk, access to the Subway is very close.. I was a bit concerned about having to share a bathroom and shower, but all went...

Not sure what's going on but the hotel website has disappeared. Called because I had a reservation that I wasn't going to need and their website had been down for four days. Person I spoke to said that they weren't taking reservations for the rest of the year and when I pressed, wasn't sure that they'd still be in business....

Over a month after this hotel happily accepted our booking, we received a very short and blunt notice saying that our reservation was cancelled due to "building-wide repairing and upgrading" activities. This was less than two months before our intended stay -- and that in a city like New York, where it is very hard to find an affordable place...

I booked a double room in February for an upcoming stay in July and just received an e-mail from the Larchmont on May 2 cancelling my reservation (!) due to building-wide renovations. I am extremely annoyed at their lack of planning. Due to the late cancellation, I am now stuck with limited choices in my desired neighborhood and will have...

Booked room at beginning of january for 7 nights stay mid July - ive entered the NYC triathlon and fancied venturing around the big apple for the rest of the week. Just received an email informing me that they've cancelled my booking due to refurbishment! Surely they'd have known this before? Bloody shoddy!

If you keep going back, that must say something. I have stayed at this hotel at least 5 times and will return soon. Clean, fairly quiet, a lovely tree-lined Village street ... Bar Six is just around the corner and French Roast (open 24/7) right up the street. Walk everywhere. Most of the people you run into at breakfast are...

My first stay here, 2 nights in a single. Most of the prior reviews are right on target. Clean, spotless bathrooms, never had to wait for one. Just a few blocks from Washington Square off Fifth, an excellent location. There were many nice touches, including fresh flowers in the breakfast room. Showers were good, although on the 5th floor you...

European style hotel in Greenwich Village not far from Washington Square offers inexpensive accommodations. Rooms are small with sink. Toilet/shower rooms shared (there are enough so you rarely run into anyone using them). Hotel provides bathrooms and slippers in each room. Continental breakfast comes with price of room. Courteous and helpful staff.

It's as if I was staying in a B&B in London, except much BETTER because it was located on a quiet and beautiful street in the best city in the world, close to shops, historic sites, food options, transportation, etc.

Small room but perfect! You cannot have a better location. It's old fashioned but you don't need more than that, and the price can't get better than that! Shared bathrooms but I never ever waited and it was always clean. Staff was friendly. The breakfast could be improved a bit, it's quite minimal, but that's not the end of the...

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
