This is an excellent hotel with a good location. Was here primarily to do research at New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, which is just a few blocks away. Most everything in the city is a short cab ride away. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Felt like a valued guest! Rooms are small (it’s New York) but the space is smartly used and is clean and well-maintained.
We stayed at this location of Fairfield inn for 5 days, because it was close to my brother in law’s place. And we got a really good deal. The check in process is as easy, and even though we were early, we got our room quickly. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The beds were good, and the water pressure was good. Even with the A/C running, the room felt a little on the humid side. The grab and go breakfast was fair. One day they didn’t even have hot coffee. They could improve on their room cleaning procedures. We had to call or stop at the front desk to get more shampoo, conditioner, and coffee for the in room coffee makers.
Only highest remarks for all metrics for this excellent hotel. The staff - every single person - SO truly warm, responsive, and caring. You can tell that they love what they do. The hotel is in a great location if you want to be close to Hudson River or Central Park and of course all fo the amazing places on the UWS. Very clean and quiet and professional. I highly recommend this hotel.
5-star reviews for this place absolutely shock me because my two nights here were without a doubt the worst stay I've ever had at a hotel. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, but that's about where the good stops. My room smelled straight up like sewage, and I wish I was kidding. I thought the smell might have been from the hallway or it might go away with time, but it never did, and it was 100% coming from the bathroom toilet and shower drain. So gross. The roller shade for the window was also torn (like a giant tear down the middle), and it gave me major murder scene vibes. And the air conditioning didn't work at all; I tried resetting it, pressing the up arrow, and even reaching out to the front desk for help (spoiler alert: they were useless until maybe 10 hours before checkout they finally must have reset it" from the outside"). The room was boiling. To top it off: the phone/alarm clock combo in the room were not working (dead to the world even plugged in), my room was only stocked with one single bath towel in the bathroom (no hand towels, no shampoo, nothing), the bathroom faucet was super powered and sprayed water everywhere whenever it turned on, and the staff I interacted with were super rude and disinterested both over chat and coming to my room when I requested an additional towel. The location is a solid 10-15 minute walk from the nearest subway station, and my window looked out on some industrial tower/plant thing. My room was next to the elevator so I heard noise literally all night long. I would literally stay ANYWHERE else in the city to avoid staying here again. And as a loyal Marriott traveler (with multiple family members who have lifetime status), disappointed doesn't even do my experience justice. Avoid, avoid, avoid.…
This hotel is a little gem tucked into the Upper West Side. Short walk to Central Park, the Hudson River, attractions, shopping and restaurants in all price ranges. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed comfortable. Totally quiet which was unexpected in Manhattan. The staff was outstanding, especially friendly, efficient, helpful Robert who quickly checked me in then went outside to explain to my husband (still in the car, double parked) how to get to the parking deck around the corner. Robert brought in the luggage and took it to our room. Throughout our 4 night stay, he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of, as did others on staff. We will definitely stay here whenever we visit NYC. Highly recommend!!!
