Join us for Joie de Vivre's New York debut, an all-new neighborhood gathering place in Chinatown. Our new boutique hotel is crowned with a rooftop terrace lounge overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Where diverse cultures have come together for centuries. A springboard to some of New York City's most vibrant neighborhoods, from here in the heart of Chinatown to the Lower East Side, Tribeca, Soho, Little Italy and Brooklyn. 50 Bowery is a boutique hotel that captures the energy of NYC, inspired by the cultural crossroads of our location on Manhattan's oldest street, where diverse cultures have come together for centuries. With this hotel's convenient location on Bowery near Canal Street and the Manhattan Bridge, getting anywhere in NYC will be a breeze. We celebrate the joy of life, where General Washington communed with his men at the Bull's Head Tavern, where actors once took the stage at the vibrant New York Theater, and where new Americans from Europe and Asia brought their optimism and ambition.

Awesome location in Chinatown. Every room is cute and has it's own little touches. That said, walls are a bit thin and the faucet in the shower is very sensitive and hard to get into that 'hot but not too hot' sweet spot but overall, so great!

I stayed here for a couple of days for a mini vacation and enjoyed it. It has been my first time staying anywhere other than home since the pandemic began (and since I've been fully vaccinated). Everything was clean and protocols were clear. While some guests ignored the two people at a time rule for the elevators, the staff were all courteous and very careful. It was a bit out of the way for me in Chinatown but it was worth it for the views and great food.

Dear Jet, thank you so much for writing a survey, I am grateful you took the time to do so. congratulations on getting the vaccine and thank you for choosing us to be your first get away! I am sorry to hear that not everyone honored the 2 people per elevator rule, grrr. We certainly do our best to encourage people to respect the rules but i understand it is still an unusual thing to remember even after 12 months of this! I am glad the team demonstrated being careful; this is great feedback and i am excited to thank the team in person. I hope we can welcome you again before too long. Sincerely, Ryan

Overall a great experience. A little hiccup with night time staff but does not impede with the value and location of hotel. Room is clean and cozy. Got upgraded to a nice city view room. Would not hesitate to come back here any time.

Good afternoon Wdywtgt, thank you for taking a moment to write about your experience and I am pleased that all in all it was good but i dont consider that an excuse for us to fall short on service. If you dont mind, i would love the opportunity to learn more about how we could have done better. if you did feel comfortable sharing with me please feel free to contact the hotel and ask for me in person and be assured the feedback will be handled with discretion and only for the purposes of teaching and all of us improving for the future. sincerely, Ryan

Booked a 2 night staycation at this Hyatt property. The room is a good size for Manhattan. The walls are quite thin tho. I could hear my neighbors and the cleaning people in the morning who woke me. The WiFi was horrible. I would have stayed longer but I was not able to work from my room so checked out early. Water pressure was also very poor. Location was great for people to explore lower Manhattan. Walked across the Brooklyn bridge, got a foot massage and tons of restaurants.

Dear Livesavvier, Thank you for the balanced review and i am really happy you enjoyed our amazing neighborhood. we are so lucky, we are right at the point where 5 of the most iconic NYC neighborhoods coverage AND we are near Brooklyn :) I am really sorry to hear about the wifi and water pressure. I wonder if there is anything that could be done to fix or improve those items. we actually just allowed all guests to access twice the speed internet and it wasn't slow before so i am surprised to read this but if there is a dead zone i absolutely need to address it. Should you have time, please feel free to call the hotel and ask for me in person as I would be happy to learn the room number and follow up personally! yo have already been very generous with your time by writing but if i can get the room number that would help immensely! Thank you, Ryan

The hotel met all of my expectations, which is even more impressing during such difficult times. I managed to dodge lockdown for my birthday last year but hotel bowery made this one equally as special. The view was incredible. The lounge was very pretty and spaced out enough so that no one in my party felt uncomfortable. The staff was SO nice. Fun, and very hospitible. Our room was clean and pretty spacious for a regular room. Good location. Great time overall.
