The location may not be for everyone but we found it convenient. Outstanding staff and room size large for NYC. Second floor lounge an unexpected plus with coffee and tea. Pastries woyld have been a plus
Staffs unable to proactively provide services during the time when AC was down for our entire stay. Do not recommend staying at this location. Although being a Hyatt property, this location does not fit the standard of Hyatt.
AC throughout the building was broken for the entire week of our stay. Staff initially promised a expedient fix, which extended to end of the week, then with no ETA on the cusp of 97 degree heat. They promised to supply fans, but when I called the fans were out. Room service was inconsistent. I had to call multiple times to make sure service was requested and they were still missed. One night we just got frustrated and asked to switch rooms. Terrible place, do not recommend for anyone.
When I arrived, it was very hot in my room, even though the thermostat was set to 65. I figured it was just because the curtains were open, and the sun was out. But it was still hot when I woke up the next morning, so I called the front desk. Turns out the AC was out of service for the entire hotel, and it remained that way for the entirety of my four night stay. Had someone informed me of this at check-in, I would have stayed somewhere else.
Nice staff but awful experience. the Air con was broken for the complete stay (4 nights). The night time temperature of 27 C (over 80 F). I would advise you to check that the air con is working before you stay and if not find another Hotel.
I really liked this hotel, clean, quiet comfortable rooms and the staff are helpful. Be aware it's a few blocks from the subway, the lounge and rooftop bar are at times rented out not accessible and there isn't a restaurant on site. Food can easily be ordered from nearby restaurants and delivered. The A/C wasn't working, the staff did the best they could - this a recurrent issue if you read previous reviews. I'd stay here again but would skip the rooftop bar- abysmal service and uninspired cocktails. The little bar next door to the left is a real treat.
This hotel was amazing!!! One of the cleanest hotels I have every stayed it. House keeping were spot on. The reception staff were so friendly and happy to assist with everything. The complimentary pastries were yum! The location is perfect. It is on the outskirts of china town and walking distance to little Italy, soho and lower east side.I found the beds really comfy and don’t normally sleep well when away but this was excellent. Totally recommend this hotel. Check out the Chinese restaurant a few doors down as it is delicious and also good places for massages.
Unfortunately i did not get the no ac memo . I arrived to the hotel close to midnight after 4 hours of travel to get there . I checked in and preceded to go to my room . At no point was the ac problem mentioned . So i arrive to me room and find a paper stuck on the door . I read it to find out that there is no ac in the building . So i open the door only to be hit by a hot stuff room . Mind you i have to wake up 4 hours after my arrival . Not happy i call down to the front desk and ask why nothing was said when making a reservation? At that point i was out on hold forever to talk to a manager . No answer was given . The note mention that they would provide a fan yet when i requested one i was told they ran out . At this point I’m not gonna lie i was livid . Tired of waiting on hold i decided to call Hyatts main number for answers . They informed me they know nothing of the situation. But they did comp the room .…
Let me save you from spending several sweltering nights in this hotel - there is NO AC. Pros - beautiful second floor lobby that is a great WFH set-up, convenient-ish location in Chinatown, cool rooftop bar and friendly service. Also appreciate the cleaning staff as they drop by to clean every day. Cons - the AC barely worked on our first day here, and then just completely stopped working on the second day FOR THE ENTIRE BUILDING. The front desk keeps promising they're working on it, but after reading reviews & noting that they continually push out the date in which they'll fix the AC - "tonight - sorry tomorrow afternoon, actually maybe tomorrow night...hopefully soon?" - I am seriously disappointed that a hotel could allow you to stay in stifling hot temperatures (it's reaching 80 degrees this weekend!!) without offering any refund or separate hotel accommodations. I write this to save a poor unwitting guest from suffocating in their hotel room.…
The hotel was beautiful, clean, and in a great location. Right on the corner of Bowery and Canal. The staff were exemplary. I have never interacted with a more polite and enthusiastic hotel staff. Everyone went above and beyond with every interaction. I would return to this hotel for all the reasons listed above, but most of all for the staff!
