Warm and inviting. Great staff, very clean and quiet. Spacious room with a kitchenette, and a full breakfast spread free. The lodge is just off the expressway exit but tucked away in some woods. No traffic noise at all. Short drive to National and state Forest, close to Hendersonville and Asheville. Very reasonable price too!
Im going to be very disappointed by other hotels in the future because I loved this place so much!!! When you see where it is so close to highway and businesses you'd think "how is this a wedding venue" but let me tell you from the moment you enter the lobby you are transported to a mountain lodge 100%. The lobby is grand but warm and inviting. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly, one even said "Welcome home" to us when we came in from exploring one day. It was SOOO charming. Our room was very nice, bed comfy, TV HUGE. Kitchen area was perfect and though I didn't think we would need it, we actually ended up using it for snacking at night and early am bagels and coffee from downstairs before heading to brunch each day. There WAS was a fragrance in the room that was a pleasant smell but my allergies didn't like. Luckily either I got used to it or because we asked for no service each day, it dissipated. We did find the indoor pool which was lovely and open late (til 10pm) and the backyard sitting areas were really pretty with nature peeping all around, but we didn't take advantage of it either since we always got back from sight seeing etc too late. It would be a beautiful place for a wedding, conference, family reunion I can tell, but for us, it was perfect little hideaway and we will definitely be back!…
We spent three nights here while visiting with relatives. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was basic but sufficient. Staff was very pleasant. The only quibble I had was that there was a grab bar just outside the shower to get in, but there were no grab bars in the shower.
We stayed 4 nights and drove around to visit the area. This hotel is very clean and has a decent breakfast. The owner is hands-on so you know the place is well kept. They have a great indoor pool and outside courtyard with a waterfall. Nice place
We stayed 1 night at this lovely hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Not only was it clean and beautifully decorated, but the staff was so friendly! Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of choices. The bed was super comfortable and there were thoughtful touches like mints and a sweet welcome letter on it. I hope to return one day soon!
We arrived without a reservation - wanted to see the property before doing so. The owner greeted us at the front desk and before we knew it, we were getting out our credit card. I should have waited. I had just realized that I left my wallet and car keys at a McDonald's over an hour back. We didn't bring in anything but ran up to look at the room and were inside a total of 15 seconds. We touched nothing. Upon arriving at McDonald's, driving in rain with no cell service, we decided it was too late to go all the way back and called to cancel. Just over an hour had passed. I was told by the woman who answered that Scott was gone for the day. Umm, okay. Is there not a manager on duty I could speak to? NO, Scott is the owner and she would call him and call me right back. What? No manager on duty? Hmm. Another reason why I won't book a small hotel again. She didn't call me back so after 20 minutes, I called again. She told me she couldn't reach him but I made sure she canceled both nights anyway. We weren't returning. I sent an email and this is the response. Please know that we reviewed the video / audio surveillance footage regarding your check-in or interaction at the Front Desk last Thursday....The 7th of July at 4:20 PM. Please know that we also reviewed or listened to your recorded calls to the hotel thereafter at 5:46 pm and 6:06 pm. Ms. Noriega, please know that our cancellation policy is a mirror image of the "Chain Hotels". You referenced why " You don't book with Independent hotels". In closing Ms. Noriega.....Upon a "Complete Evaluation and Review of the Situation and Communication Thereof".........We are sorry but we must adhere to our cancellation policy. Sounds like they have sent emails like this before. They reviewed audio and video footage and listened to the calls? Like really? We are talking about $130 here! Geeze. I understand they have a cancellation policy but I booked at the front desk - didn't even make a reservation - and wasn't told. He was FULLY aware of how upset I was about my keys and wallet being so far away after driving for HOURS. Even still, it was a Thursday night and they could've made an exception. I wasn't keeping anyone from booking a room. They had plenty of availability. Just an average run of the mill hotel next to the interstate - not to be confused with a "lodge". I was swayed by the high review score and the amount of them but in actuality, it seems to be too many high reviews for what we saw when we arrived - that should have been a red flag.…
As avid travelers my husband and I were looking for a nice, comfortable and a place to stay with great ambience. Little did we know that the lodge will not only meet our expectations but in fact exceed them. The place was extremely clean, very well maintained and gave the vibe of a castle The owner was personable and did an amazing job in making sure the guests felt welcome and had great conversations with me and my husband suggesting us names of few places to see in flat rock. He made sure he introduced his father who was visiting from Indiana. We highly recommend this place to stay if someone is planning a visit to the area and assure them they will not be disappointed. Breakfast was simple yet cooked and served well. Rooms were extremely clean with the most comfortable beds and a mini kitchen. We were so impressed by the place that we will definitely visit again with our entire family. Thanks Scott (owner) for making our trip to North Carolina one of the best trips. We promise we will visit again with our family and stay at the Lodge. Great job in building a long term customer relationship. Keep up the great work.…
We stayed here multiple times over the course of visits to the area and then while buying a home and finalizing our purchase. We love staying here! We enjoy the suites, breakfast, friendly/helpful staff, beautiful lobby, and proximity to attractions! And it’s pet-friendly with no additional fee!!! This was definitely our most comfortable stay and easily became our home until our house could be finalized.
We stayed on a Saturday night. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Room was roomy. Had a kitchenette. Breakfast was great. I had the mini omelettes, sausage, and mini pancakes. Front desk staff was welcoming. Grounds were clean. Lobby was spotless. All around great stay and would return and recommend.
The door to our room#222 was not working properly so if you pushed the door it would open !........We were told maintenance would look at it, two days later when we checked out the lock was still not repaired.....I emailed the manager and NEVER received a response......Since we had no choice but to hang around and protect our belongings , it completely ruined our stay!
