Bahia resort is beautiful and very well located for families. I called today right before memorial day weekend to see if by chance they had a room available. Fortunate to get Renee on the phone. Not only was she fun on the phone but she got the whole family hyped up on a last minute hail Mary. We ended up with a room that meets all my mermaids needs. Bahia is already a great resort but Renee has now made the Bahia our go to for staycations. That customer service was above and beyond excited to check in tomorrow!!
During these days of COVID, you can’t help but be concerned about travel and spending time at a hotel, but you need not worry if you’re staying here. All employees wore masks at all times, hand sanitizing stations were everywhere, and each time we dined at the wonderful Bahia Cafe, we observed how thoroughly they cleaned after guests departed. It was clear they did all that was humanly possible to guard the health of their guests and employees. The hotel is located in a beautiful area on Mission Bay. There are a little over 300 rooms spread out over many nicely landscaped acres on a peninsula. Other than two four-story buildings—one at each end of the resort—most of the rooms are in one- and two story buildings facing the water on each side. We stayed in a room with two queens overlooking the bay. The room was very clean, with a huge flat-screen tv. The bathroom is small but not an issue. There was a huge porch/balcony. One nice touch was the texting service. You could text questions or requests and receive a quick response. Our first night there we ordered room service since we arrived too late to eat at their restaurant. The person delivering the meal arrived with a tray, which they give you at the door. An employee never needed to enter the room, but housekeeping would bring anything you needed and leave it in a clear plastic bag hanging on your outside door handle. This leads to my one small criticism. We left our food tray outside the door as requested that night we arrived, but it was not picked up for two days. That’s no big deal, except because the rooms open to an outdoor walkway, some animal or bird got into the leftover food and scattered it across the walkway. I had read other reviews saying the same thing happened, so there’s room for improvement in that. It’s a small matter, though, considering all the extra things employees must be doing to keep things clean these days. We dined at the Bahia Cafe for breakfast twice and dinner once on my daughter’s 21st birthday. My compliments to Kona, the server that night, for making it special. The food each time was excellent, and they have a nice selection of reasonably priced wines. We also took advantage of the airport transportation service offered by So Cal Transportation. Ray, the owner/driver, while an independent and not an employee of the hotel, was a great ambassador for the Bahia. He is a friendly, warm person, and I felt like I had made a new friend. The bottom line: the Bahia is a great escape if you need a break from all the craziness and are concerned about safety. Every employee we met always wore a smile and were extremely friendly. You could tell they enjoyed working there, which to me is clear indication of a well-run hotel with management that cares about people. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Diego.…
Patrick in reservations was amazing. Went above and beyond. Helped explain benefits and pricing. I canceled my reservation at another resort based on all his information and great service. Thank you sir!
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Dockside 1953 restaurant had a beautiful bayside view with wonderful food. I can’t say enough good things about our server Jean. She is definitely one of the nicest people I’ve met in my travels. Very friendly, attentive, and hard working. She is one of the reasons we booked our second stay at the Bahia. Our delightful hostess Angie was so friendly and had a bubbly personality. Great staff.
Had a great week long stay at the Bahia. Very easy check in and check out. Very friendly and helpful staff here. The location is perfect overlooking Mission Bay and minutes away from the beach. The resort is very clean and with beautiful gardens with flowers and lush tropical greenery everywhere. I stayed in a room overlooking the gardens. Many room have views of Mission Bay. Had some great meals at the Dockside Restaurant. The pool and spa are awesome. Plenty of lounge chairs. I also spent time at their private beach. Highly recommend this resort.
