In current times, it isn't an ideal place to stay. I had high hopes that more restaurants and shops would be open however it was a total ghost town. I would recommend staying somewhere that may have more things open. The gentleman who checked us in was wonderful and very attentive. The room was fine, nothing special and a bit small. Our shower drain was very slow and the initial smell of the room was not great, but I know that is the special cleaners they are required to use. The homeless everywhere was also not ideal being that I was there with my young daughter. Parking in a garage is a few blocks away, no valet right now. We scored big time with a parking spot right in front.

This was one of the most positive experiences at a hotel I have ever had. This hotel has done a great job of implementing all COVID precautions and was very clean and we felt very safe and comfortable at this hotel. All of the staff we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful with any needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and it will be my first choice in future San Diego trips.

I have stayed in many hotels during covid and this was by far the worst. First I arrived to find over $50 a night for parking and this should have been disclosed when reservation was made 40% of room cost. No coffee maker in room, no cups. Staff was nice but put us in room and with covid had a group of about 10 girls screaming all night with a big party next to us until 3am I will not return

Dear traceyriddle, Thank you for being our guest and my sincerest apologies for the less than satisfying experience you had recently. I will take responsibility for the coffee makers and limited items in the guest room as I truly wanted to limit as much high touch items as possible and my colleagues should of informed you at check in that we have all these items available and sanitized at the front desk or would deliver to you room. In regards to parking very challenging indeed downtown at the moment to say the least but regardless I will ensure that this is (as it should) referenced on the website. In regards to the group of ladies we do not endorse or promote any parties of any sort but our hope is that our guests comply with state regulations during the current atmosphere and alas we rely on our guests to inform us of any disturbances which we would certainly enforce. I certainly will be investigating this matter in more detail to ensure any and all noise disturbances are enforced for everyones safety and experience. Thank you for allowing me to understand these rather significant areas of opportunity and be assured that we will correct all areas that we are able to.

Really enjoyed my stay in San Diego here. The hotel itself was fine. The staff? Excellent. Everyone behind the counter was incredibly welcoming and helpful, but particularly Val. A quick story that sums up how she continuously went above and beyond: One night, I had reserved an hour of gym time. A guest who was late for her own appointment the previous hour wasn't exactly interested in leaving the gym at her scheduled deadline. I let it go. But Val called down to the Moxy down the street and didn't just get me into the gym there, but walked me there personally to make sure I was good. There were several other situations where she was also helpful. She assisted me in restaurant recommendations, any accommodations I needed personally, like ice or cups for the room. Again, everyone was great. The morning staff — I'm forgetting names, I'm sorry — was kind and outgoing. I had a great trip. Give Val a raise. — Brendan, Marriott Ambassador Elite member.

I love the location. I usually go for in a hotel a high floor room, but here you might be better off in a lower floor room due to the active roof bar scene. I prefer the street-facing rooms. Parking can be found slightly cheaper down the street, but be aware of what would be a $25 per night parking, if you are even one minute over it jumps to $50. I believe the hotel parking was $35 a night.
