This was our family's second trip to the Marquis. We enjoyed it so much the first time, we decided to come back Valentine's day when the Covid lock down eased up. We got here early, at 1400, knowing the room may not be ready. We were told guaranteed check-in was 1600 and they'd text us. We had 1700 dinner reservations in Little Italy so we figured we'd be fine. We didn't get a text till 1630, for a GUARANTEED check-in of 1600. Apparently, everyone else got the same text because the check-in line was 15 deep now. We finally got to the room at 1700. Needless to say, we lost our dinner reservations and had to wait another 2 hours for a table with hungry kids. Standard check-out is 1100. How are rooms not ready at 1600? Fail Marriott Marquis! Anyway, here's the rest... the room views are awesome, the pool is immaculate and location next to Seaport Village is great. Walking distance to Gaslamp. Wheel Fun Bike rentals right outside of the pool. Limited On-Site food/drink options and no regular house keeping due to Covid.

Overall we had a great experience at this hotel. Stayed here for two nights with our young children in tow. Had some issues I addressed with the front desk after our first night via the Bonvoy app, the assistant front desk manager Robert Little went above and beyond to rectify the situation. I was so impressed! I really felt even over chat that he cared to make sure we were happy. That is not always the case for hotels, especially as large as this one. Many times they just give a generic apology and make zero effort to actually better things. Also want to note that the front desk is incredibly quick and responsive via chat. Thank you Robert for going above and beyond to turn our stay around, we had a wonderful stay in room 1771.

Always a pleasure staying here. Staff is professional, friendly and informative. Views are great, especially from the 25th floor! Great location, ample parking and close to many restaurants. The Tequila Bar is nice, lots of seating.

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis and it was just alright, all the restaurants were closed and construction was going on but they still charged me a resort fee where the Grand Hyatt next door waived it for me. The rooms are small but it did have a balcony where I could sit outside. The Marriott made up my mind where I will be staying next time in San Diego and that will be the Manchester Grand Hyatt.

The Marriott Marquis is a beautiful property as it’s located right on the marina in San Diego only a bridge away from Coronado island. This property is located within walking distance to the gaslight area of shops and restaurants. This property needs renovation as it is showing age and definitely needs some refreshing for 2021( see images) overall was an enjoyable weekend
