We had a good time. This was our first time without our kids at a hotel. The hotel is lovely, pretty landscaping and peaceful. The food was delicious in the Verana which we ate at dinner and breakfast. The service providers are very respectful and friendly everywhere at the hotel. The few things that made me rate this as a 4 star was the vacuum that woke me up at 6:30am that was immediately taken care of by the front desk and the spa appointment required on the weekends in order to enter the spa. I wish they had a spa pass on the weekends without an obligation for a service. Reserve your table for breakfast is recommended as well. I would go back and recommend this place.
I decided to try a 2 night Staycation at The Rancho Bernardo Inn as I have been caring for my mom full time and needed some R&R. Sadly, it needs a serious cleaning and facelift and is not worth the money they charge per night. Their restaurants & room service are also seriously lacking. I sat at the Veranda one afternoon during a non-busy time for over 15 minutes, when no one came by with water or even to say hello, I requested a server from the hostess. Food was mediocre and way over priced. Next night I decided to try room service, but the food NEVER came. So I purchased a bag of chips & a Kind bar from the front desk. Next day I did not even attempt eating at the Inn, but tried to order dessert off room service later that night. This time it was delivered, but not what I had even ordered! It appears they are understaffed, undertrained, and most likely underpaid. The only positive to the 2 night stay were the 2 spa treatments I had scheduled- a facial and a massage. Both treatments and therapists were wonderful. However, half of the lockers did not latch or work properly and the robe I was given had a giant tear in the back. All of the robes I saw people in very frayed & worn. This resort is run down in many places, had terrible food service and is NOT worth the money.…
We are here for a 10 day visit as part of a large group. Everything has been truly spectacular from the grounds of the resort to the client service. The resort has stunning grounds Full of beautiful flowers. My husband enjoyed two rounds of golf on the beautiful course. Every member of the staff from the waitstaff to the pool attendants to the shuttle drivers is so friendly and nothing seems too much to ask. I want to make a special mention of hotel General Manager Mr. Lemmon and Director of Rooms Brian who went truly above and beyond to accommodate a request from us. We have stayed at many luxury resorts and Mr. Lemmon, Brian and their teams live up to the standards of exceptional client service. We will certainly be returning.
What a place! Could not fault Rancho Bernardo Inn at all. I had a great stay in March 2022. The Inn itself and the grounds, pools etc are beautiful. It was such a relaxing vacation I really didn’t want to come home. I ate in the Veranda restaurant a few times and it was always excellent, especially the sprouts. The tasting menu with accompanying wine in Avant was absolutely first class. Well worth going for the experience. The service though was the thing that separated this hotel from others. The staff were all so friendly, they can’t do enough to make your stay truly special. Thanks everyone. I will definitely be back next year.
Great town! Lots to do. Can be expensive if you eat at the touristy places. But the food was fresh and fantastic! If you’re here for business, definitely stay where you can walk around because Uber and Lyft can get pricey. If you’re here for a vacation, I would recommend staying around where you’ll spend the most time. I would definitely recommend La Jolla. Get to know the bus lines - they were not crowded at all and were a cheap way to get from the convention center area to La Jolla, Oldtown, etc.
Our visit to Rancho Bernardo Inn was not only a very successful business meeting, but a true hospitality experience. All employees that we engaged were warm, friendly, and had a genuine desire to assist with any need. I look forward to returning many times in the future with my wife and for business.
I love the veranda restaurant at the Rancho bernardo inn but oftentimes they are booked w/reservations. It looks as if tables are available but they’re being held for others—some of whom never show. Instead of simply turning us away, hostess Netanya found a creative way to make a table for us. She did not have to do that. What a difference it made. Thank you, Netanya! When so many restaurants are suffering from lack of staff/disgruntled employees post-covid, it was reassuring to experience such excellence in you.
This hotel is gorgeous but our favorite memory is Bell in the Cafe Grenada. Bell has the most cheery disposition, even when the line can build up a bit. She reassures everyone she will be right them and handles each order with great care. We were fortunate that the executive chef was present during our visit and the pastries, particularly the berry and cheese tart, were exquisite. If you'd like to meet an angel here on earth, seek her out. You won't be disappointed.
Rancho Bernardo Inn and Spa is a wonderful "Destination Resort" yet it is so close and easy to get to. Located just north of San Diego, RB Inn combines charm, grace and a relaxing, tranquil environment with fun, great food and drink, 5 star service and facilities and a fantastic spa, not to mention a 18 hole golf course on site! We (9 of us) just celebrated our daughters 30th birthday there and the experience could not have been better. Outstanding Spa Treatments (best ever for several in our party) and an afternoon at the spa pool, complete with poolside bar and food service couldn't have been better and our dinner at the Chef's Private Table at the highly acclaimed Avant Restaurant was exquisite (the wine parings were amazing and the food was equally as outstanding and the setting is breathtaking). The rooms are beautifully appointed and overall the service (especially Jamie the GM, Trevor at the Bell Desk, Brian at the Front Desk, Amy at the Spa and Gabrielle at Avant) was worthy of a 5 star rating. While overall prices are on the high side, you get what you pay for here, a relaxing experience in an amazing, feel like you are in another world resort with a wide range of fun, exciting amenities, great food and drink and top notch service.…
I decided to hold a surprise birthday party for my husband at the RB Inn (Avant Restaurant - Table 65 - Private Dining Room). From the start of planning Gabriella (Event Coordinator) was very attentive and detailed, making sure I was aware of what options were available and there were no hidden costs or surprises. She patiently answered my 1000+ questions and helped me modify the menu to ensure it met the needs of my party. Personalized menu cards were created for the adults and children (very nice touch) and the night of the party went off without a hitch. We also had family and friends stay at the resort. We had a 3 course tasting menu. EVERYTHING on there was delish. Folks often selected multiple items from each course because it was that good and they wanted to try everything. Portions were good and we were stuffed (in a good way) by the end of the night. Our server was Drew and I strongly recommend asking for him by name if you have an event here. He personally greeted each guest as they arrived, called them by their name throughout the night and remembered what they were drinking. He was an expert on the menu and drink options. His service was impeccable and I want him to do all my events! All the guests mentioned him by name after the event and left feeling like he paid special attention to each of them. If you are planning a party or special event, I strongly recommend RB Inn and the Avant Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.…
