We so enjoyed our stay at the Dolphin Motel near Shelter Island, SanDiego! We have been visiting SD for over 4 years and have stayed in many hotels from Oceanside to Sanysidro, from o the bigger chains to the little trendy ones down in the Gaslamp district, to the highrises by the harbor, and we have to say that The...

We stayed for a week. The location is great to get to the airport and many different sites that San Diego offers. The staff including the owners were friendly and helpful. Everyday we got clean towels and the maid without asking us changed our sheets twice! The room is small and it sits on the corner of a quiet street...

We recently stayed at the Dolphin Inn when we were visiting San Diego. To be honest, we weren’t sure what to expect even though the Dolphin does not advertise that they are a luxury hotel. Well, when we got there, we went into the office area. It’s small. They don’t have a lobby nor an official bellman or concierge. But...

Selected this motel because of the rating of being #7 in San Diego and price was reasonable ($60-$70). I'm not a fancy room person, usually keep things cheap 2-3 star so my level of need is reasonable. The room was smallish and old, but very clean as everyone says. There was no shampoo and no phone in the room (though...

Yikes! We are a victim of our own success! With our high rating, some guests expect, as was said a "2-3 star" property. Sorry we did not meet your expectations. But we continue to stay true to our mission, which is to provide a clean, no frills, safe, friendly service oriented room for a small price. Regarding "other places that...

I stayed for two nights an was very pleased. The room was a little small and a bit spartan but the location is wonderful. It is a short walk from many restaurants and the marina. And for $55 it can't be beat.

The ad outside the motel says: why pay more? Indeed, there is little reason if all you are looking for is a well-run, clean, friendly and well-located accommodation at a very affordable price where to spend your nights rather than days. The rooms are on the smaller side, but not cramped - we had all the space we needed. The...

HELLO and thank you Meerkatis All the way from Italy! We have such nice guests from Europe who stay for long periods of time I am under the impression Europeans take longer vacations than people in the US Our logo in the front says "Ask to see a room, why pay more, free breakfast" It seems to catch good people...

Clean, clean, clean! Everything is white - the bed linens, the towels, the walls, as well as the outside stairs and railings, which the spunky 80-year-old owner touches up regularly with a can of white paint. And if you want to know anything about Point Loma, he was formerly the number one real estate agent in the area and knows...

HELLO MMPera, its so nice of you to take the time to write us a review, You must have talked to Mr Murdock during breakfast This is an old fashion "mom & pops" The owners are very hard working, coming to work everyday In fact they haven't taken a vacation in 15 years! We stayed at the Dolphin for a total of 3 nights over our 6 night trip to Southern CA. The rooms are immaculately clean and the staff is wonderful.
