Have been staying here for years, starting back when it was still the Ritz. It never disappoints. Comfortable, stately, and the best possible location. Feels like an oasis of calm and stateliness overlooking the Public Garden.

We stayed the 2nd time at Taj Boston and once again liked the quiet and luxury of the room and the perfect location right across from beautiful Public Garden and next to Newbury Street. Perfect for a trip to Boston as many of Boston's sights are easily in walking distance. We will surely come back for a 3rd time.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a tour and were very impressed by the service, room etc. our only downer was the lack of hot water early in the morning for the shower. 1st morning fine, 2nd morning cold at 5.30 and had to ring. Warm water available at 6.05 but too late for us that...

It seems the more you pay the less you get. Having treated ourselves to an expensive 2 nights in what we expected to be a good if not excellent hotel we were subsequently underwhelmed by our stay. The hotel is in a brilliant location and the room was very large and clean. However having booked a room with a city...

Our room (king bed) was spacious and well appointed, had a sitting area. Very clean. Quiet environment. Close to shopping, right across from the Commons. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I have nothing more to add.

Overall service was great. Staff was friendly and professional. Requests were handled immediately. Rooms were a bit small and outdated. Location, location ,location is the best attribute of this hotel.

We returned to our room one evening after a nice evening in Beacon Hill. Our room was well over 90 degrees. We needed a good night sleep as we were departing the next morning. Nothing done to help us except to bring a old fan to our room to help cool off the room. Needless to say, it was a...

I went here looking for what used to be the best burger for me. My burger was burned black! I sent it back. My sons burger was the same. The waiter took quite a long time to bring me something else. The manager came over and did not apologize but at least comped our burgers. I will never have food...

Great hotel, great location and a great room! My new favorite place in Boston. The Taj is a hotel on the level of the Ritz Carlton which is no suprise considering this was the first Ritz ever. Can't wait to return.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
