The staff at the Taj were exceptional. From the first moment we drove up you felt that every need would be taken care of. The rooms were comfortable, the conference area was wonderful and meals were nicely done.

Arrived in Boston for a two-night stay at The Taj. Left our hire car with the valet who joked that I'd have no problems getting a dinner reservation anywhere in the city with my surname (it's Kennedy).
Our room wasn't prepared so I left my...More

Pros: Really great location on Boston Common, easy walking to many places. Friendly staff. Large rooms
Cons: Outdated interior, bathrooms need updating (and illogical layout). Sort of a "Meh" sort of vibe -- not bad, but nothing at all exciting or interesting. TV barely worked.
Stayed here for the second time this year and thoroughly enjoyed it, again. It's a landmark hotel that has maintained its grandeur and has a perfect location for a weekend vacation. The front desk staff is still top notch and Natalie at the concierge desk...More

Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice
weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
