Even though a little expensive, the hostel is clean, the environment is young and modern, and the staff is friendly and ready to help - I went with two other friends and they found a way of us staying in the same room even though our reservations were made separately. Plus the breakfast has a lot of variety for a...

The place is impeccable from reception, through cleaners, to breakfast! Although share washrooms, there are plenty and very clean. I recommend the 4 people bedrooms. And do not forget to bring your lock for the locker. But if you do, they sell everything at reception.

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Rooms are great, plenty of locker space, space by your bed and hooks for hanging towels etc. Bathrooms are delightful! Spacious, clean and one cubicle per room (i.e. not one big bathroom per floor) and towels are not extra (no need to byo!). Huge kitchen, a few different hang-out...

Thanks for your kind words, Jess! We love those little cubbies attached to the beds. Thanks for mentioning our bathroom cleanliness- our housekeeping staff works incredibly hard to keep those spaces tidy, and they'll be glad to hear that our guests are taking notice! Come back and see us soon :)

I came into Boston for a 3-day conference that was held at the Park Plaza Hotel, located just a few blocks walk from the hostel. I felt confident coming in as I had read the reviews for the HI-Hostel prior to travel. As soon as I walked in, and saw how modern & cool it is, I was very pleased....

Wow~ thank you for your review! So glad that we met (and dare I say, maybe exceeded?) your expectations! I think those bed cubbies are tied for my favorite feature in our hostel (the other being that our dining room chairs are each made from 111 recycled/re-purposed Coke bottles). Next time you're in town, peek to the very back of...

HI Boston are very efficient when it comes to booking a stay for groups, they make it very easy. The hostel is very organized, very clean. The location is also perfect in the center of Boston, within walking distance of most places. Individual travellers will also enjoy their stay.

First time I stayed in a HI USA and it couldn't be better. As soon as I arrived the staff did the check-in and advised that some hostel guests were in a pub next door. After that I got perfectly fit in ans spend there three awesome days. About the hostel itself is quite new, has excellent conditions including great...

The overall building and facilities throughout the entire Hostel were of such a high standard, modern and immaculate, honestly the best i've ever stayed in. The staff were very warm and friendly, they helped me out with information about the city (sightseeing) and onward travel to the airport. Also the choice at the breakfast buffet was amazing and all you...

Excellent location. Massive lockers. And you have a personal cubbie hole with power plug to charge stuff at night. Nice and clean hostel. Is exactly what a backpacker is after. Breakfast is included- coffee, juice, bagels, toast, boiled eggs and cereal.

The bedside cubbies are my favorite feature. They actually have a sneaky little hole cut out in the back so you can charge electronics while you're out for the day and the items are safely locked in your locker! And thanks for complimenting our cleanliness; our Housekeeping team is top-notch -- I'll be sure to pass along the compliment :)

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom. The room was very big and good value for money with the great location of this place. The common areas were well kept, the staff very friendly and continental style breakfast was really good. Good value for money, cleanliness and excellent location in Boston downtown. Although you don´t have an ensuite bathroom, they are clean and there are plenty of them in each floor. It is basic but comfortable

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
