Stay here for business on occasion.....funky rooms...fun lounge, great location!!! Staff is professional. Furnishings are very comfortable, and the food is great for hotel fare!! Compared to other places downtown, it is a great deal.

We stayed here during the Boston Calling Music Festival. Located right around the corner from the festival square. We could even see the Red Stage from our door. Friendly staff. Remodeled modern hotel. Valet was friendly and swift. No ice machine, but it was delivered right to the room. Excellent stay!

Rooms in this hotel are beautiful, well maintained and a world away from your standard Hilton / Marriott - which is important to me. High ceilings and lots of natural daylight meant that the room is very comfortable day and night. Nice Molton Brown cosmetics too. Convenient location for the Financial District and while there is no bar or restaurant...

We were in Boston for our daughter's graduation from grad school. She was in Boston for five years so we have stayed at a plethora of hotels and this one was right up there as far as location and quietness of room go. Several T options within easy walking distance and this with the Govt station T shut down for...

I stayed two nights at the Ames and there are two things that impressed me Firstly, one can't really ask for a more ideally situated modern, slick boutique hotel with lovely rooms. Secondly, the staff are very eager to please and went out of their way to accommodate any issues or requests. Huge kudos to Craig. Having said that, I'm...

We had a quick weekend getaway to Boston and stayed at the Ames. When we arrived we were greeting by Derek, the doorman, who was knowledgeable about the area and very friendly, escorting us to our room with our bag. The room was sexy and modern. Sure we heard (and felt) the T rumble through, but it's part of staying...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
