We stayed 4 nights. A charming cottage feel. All employees couldn't have been more helpful an courteous. We felt we were near shopping and public gardens which is a small walk.Had beautiful weather so could walk where we wanted to go.Will definitely stay at Newbury house when we return.

I go to Boston on business a few times a year. I've stayed at various hotels but the prices in the fall for Boston hotels is quite high. Price point for this guest house was good for Boston. Close to my job and restaurants. Newbury St. is always busy and festive and the guesthouse is close to everything. The room... More

The biggest plus is that this hotel is close to the Hynes convention center. It is located on the quaint Newbury street. This was the 4th time I stayed in this guesthouse and the place what definitively has improved is the breakfast area, that now doubles as a bonafide restaurant after breakfast hours. The room I had was small but... More

Close to shopping, dining, theater - can't beat the quaint charm of this guest house. We stayed mid-week so it was relatively quiet but I assume on weekends it may be noisier. Overall would stay here again for sure !!

We stayed at the Newbury Guest House for 2 nights in October. We really liked the homey feel of our room. The breakfast was very nice and the staff polite and helpful. Our son attends Berklee College of Music, so we will be in Boston a lot in the coming years. We plan on staying at the Newbury Guest House... More

Newbury guest house is a wonderful place to stay in Boston. Went with a friend and we walked the whole city from this location. Even up to Bunker Hill while following the Freedom trail! We DID take an Uber back due to weather and exhaustion. The stairs are a little wonky, and it's hard to get your bags in select... More

The Newbury Guest House (NGH), a bed-and-breakfast boutique hotel on Newbury Street in Back Bay Boston, is located almost directly opposite the Hynes Convention Center (CC) on nearby Boylston Street -- in terms of actual steps, the NGH is closer to the CC Center's exhibition hall than the two big chain hotels at the south end of the CC complex.... My husband and I chose the Newbury Guest House based on Tripadvisor reviews and the inn's location. The location is nearly ideal. We were able to walk to the Common, historical sites, the Boston Symphony, and the Museum of Fine Arts. The folks at the front desk were friendly, attentive, and helpful. This being said, we found the hotel basic... More

The Newbury Guest House is a lovely bed and breakfast located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. The rooms are nice but a bit on the small side as are the bathrooms. The breakfast buffet was appetizing and served in the restaurant adjoining the lobby of the hotel. The staff were great, welcoming and helpful. The biggest plus was... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
