The Revolution Hotel strikes a chord with its eclectic and stylish atmosphere that captives many guests. While some travelers find the rooms cozy, others caution about noise issues and the unique experience of shared bathrooms. Its prime location earns high marks for convenience and walkability, yet opinions on value are mixed, with the size of the rooms and additional fees sometimes a sticking point. Despite this, the service at The Revolution Hotel receives consistent praise for its responsiveness and cleanliness, notably in the upkeep of the shared facilities.

Lobby has great lounge seating for hanging out/doing a bit of work with a electric fireplace and a small coffee shop inside. Mural throughout is by a renowned street artist named Tristan Eaton if you’re interested. We had the king room with bathroom inside. Room was generally clean, although sliding door for bathroom left about a 1” gap between the wall and door.

Bathroom was small but is expected. The shower only has a curtain separating it from the toilet so water may leak a little outwards.

The sink outside is super small so will get some getting used to if you’re washing your face there or brushing your teeth.

Overall it was fantastic with great design for the price and we had a great stay. Gym downstairs was clean, and you can also request a “Well+Fit” kit to workout in your room. Shades provided full black out.

Excellent location with great restaurants nearby and train only 5 min walk away. If you are driving there is a parking lot 2 mins away ($33/24 hours) which is recommended because everything is resident parking by permit only. You can cheat on weekends because visitor parking is around the next block and the block behind (unlimited on weekends) and meters are not in effect on Sundays.

Staff were very friendly - the Revolution would be nothing without Kevin. From the moment we arrived to our last day he made sure we had everything we needed. The housekeeping staff kept forgetting to replace some things in our room a few times and Kevin made sure we received it.

10/10 would stay there again!

While this maybe a 2 star hotel it is conveniently located and you cannot get a better deal in the City of Boston. While many rooms share the bathrooms they are very clean and have individual locked rooms for privacy. Staff was excellent. I've stayed at 5 star hotels before and this place has beat many with service, comfort and cleanliness. Anyone complaining please use the 5 star hotel down the road at $400+ a night and save your complaints for them..We will stay here again when back in the city

The place is super cute, it's rustic and modern with ceiling being exposed and concrete walls but painted. I stayed in a king with a shared bathroom, I'm so use to dorm style it didn't bother me. They were really sweet and had bathroom stuff ready, provided ribes, shoes, and towels. Everything was very clean.

There is no continental breakfast so we got from the mini bakery there, my only complaint was how stale the muffin and scone were.

The area around is expensive but everything is close and there are cheaper alternatives you can get from grubhub or ubereats but that being said everything is local and there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options.

Overall I only got to stay the one day but it was easily one of the better places I've stayed in Boston.

Note: we were here for Pax east so there were shuttles and con goers to make the experience great too.

Absolutely loved this hotel. As soon as we walked in the door we were welcomed by very friendly staff and were checked in easily and quickly. The lobby is very unique and aesthetically pleasing! The rooms are exactly as described. They are small, which we knew, but functional. I stayed in the triple bunk without a bathroom. There was plenty of room for us and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were close to our room, and always very clean. Each stall has its own door to enter with a shower and toilet, almost like a room, so it is very private. Everything was clean and all my expectations either were met or exceeded. The location is fantastic and close to everything! I definitely will recommend this hotel to friends, and would stay again!

We originally booked this hotel in 11/2019 for a 8/2020 stay for a Billy Joel concert. Obviously, life got in the way and we had to cancel the reservation. The concert moved to 8/2021...so we attempted to rebook this hotel. The price with my Teacher Discount had doubled...but thanks to Connie, she met our original price since the hotel had actually been closed during the time we were originally planning to stay.
We booked a Loft King Studio in the building across the street. We were on the 3rd floor in room 31. We loved having the bathroom in the room, and we had plenty of room for a 3 night stay. The room was super clean. The room has clean lines and the hotel has very eclectic design and vibe. Robes and Slippers were available in the closet in the bathroom.
Our room had a little kitchenette with a hot water pot and dishes and silverware. I brought instant coffee for that first thing in the morning coffee. I loved sitting in the windowsill (there is a table with 2 chairs) and watching the world go by. The clock has a phone charger pad under it that I did not discover until we left...look for it!!
Berkeley is kind of a sleepy one way street-which we enjoyed having very little street noise while we were sleeping. Back Bay is a perfect, safe area to stay to visit Boston. We liked the fact that we were a bit away from the hustle and bustle.
There is a great breakfast cafe that we ate breakfast in 2 mornings. The young man working there is awesome. One of the mornings we got going too late, and the pastries were gone. On that day we had a great breakfast across the street at Billy's Sub shop.
We were blessed to meet Connie as we checked in, and saw her several times during our stay. She always stopped to chat with us. We also enjoyed the special note and bottle of wine for our 40th Anniversary. It was delicious, and so kind!
Highly recommend this place. For us, the Loft worked better, but I don't think we would hesitate to book the rooms with shared bathrooms either. This hotel is an excellent deal in very expensive Boston!
We will be back next visit to Boston!!

I've never stayed at this kind of establishment before but I'd happily stay here again! The rooms are minimalist (if you're into that kind of thing) and you can request things you need (washcloths, towels, steamers, etc.) by text. Generally, restaurants and attractions are within walking distance but, if you want to venture further, Ubers and Lyfts can reach you without an issue!

One thing though, if you're not a fan of sharing bathrooms, be sure to request a room with an en-suite bathroom. Don't panic though, the shared bathrooms are sectioned off with doors for privacy and include a sink, shower, and a toilet. And yes, there's staff who clean them frequently!

Very cute for a short stay in Boston. This hotel has great restaurants in the area and ‘Fire n Ice’ is highly recommended. I have wanted to revisit that restaurant for years and The Revolution Hotel was a perfect spot to stay. The bathrooms are kept clean although if affordable, a private on sight in the room is more suitable. The down the hall bathrooms are completely private amongst 5 other private, and decent sized bathrooms. The king bed was insanely comfortable and the aesthetic of the hotel was all around beyond satisfactory. There is a 75$ security deposit that was refunded to me within 24 hours of checkout. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed here with my two friends in a triple room. It was very clean with a very nice aesthetic! Very comfortable bedding, rooms are small but perfectly organized and just enough space for the three of us. Bathrooms were clean, loved that each stall/room had its own private toilet, sink, and shower. There’s a nice downstairs hangout area as well with coffee and places to do work. The peloton in the 24hr gym was a plus! The staff was very nice and welcoming, I would definitely recommend staying here and will stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The location is great as it is in a beautiful part of the South End that you can walk out the hotel and find plenty to see and eat around the corner. It was only a 15-20 walk downtown or we took the T line one day to save 10 minutes or so. You can likely tell by the pictures but the rooms are very small. They are nice though and if you don't plan on spending tons of time in your room it is not a big deal. We stayed in the King suite that has an included bathroom. The bathroom was clean and functional, although again small. The sink was the smallest sink I've ever used which made it difficult, but it works. You also have the option of using the community bath areas, which we looked at and they appeared very clean. We did not have kids with us for this trip so my only worry would be how well the set up would work with children. The lobby and downstairs area was also nice to relax. The service we received was also great while we were there.

Wonderful experience from start to finish, we felt completely at ease and loved the privacy and space in our quad bed room. My husband is a big guy but still felt very comfortable with the amount of room. Hotel made super efficient use of the space! Each bed had its own cubby with shelf and charging station which saved us from the usual race to get to the bed by the plus. We brought little fans because we’re usually hot but we didn’t need them because the room’s AC worked without fail. Bathroom was across the hall and very convenient, we were excited to each get a bag with robe, slippers and toiletries and to not have to wait on someone in our room to finish in the bathroom before it was our turn. There were attendants that kept the pods clean and we had plenty of privacy. Lots of cool touches throughout the property, always felt safe, wonderful location for walking or getting to t-station. Can’t say enough about the nice and cheerful staff. I can honestly say that this trip wouldn’t have been nearly as great and memorable if not for our stay here! Everyone with me agreed we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
