Yes, you get what you pay for, and we did, plus some. The staff was very, very nice and the beds were wonderfully comfy. This old motel was better than one of the "better" hotels that we stayed in (Marriott) later in our trip. We...More
this is a mom and pop hotel with nice exterior amenities but there are some things that need attention. There was no way to adjust the AC setting, it was controlled by the office thermostat, too cold in the rooms, bathrooms could use updating, only one...More
Once again, I have to laugh at the crappy reviews of this motel. People consistently seem to think that they should get more than they pay for. I've stayed at this motel for the past four nights and it was exactly what I expected. It...More

We look forward to meeting time travelers such as yourselves, unless you meant to say you will be staying in December 2015! Just teasing. Your best bet for Christmas dining is either the Grove Park Inn or The Biltmore House restaurants, which will be decorated beautifully. Please look at Asheville's chamber of commerce website for more options during that time.
We look forward to seeing you folks,
The mountaineer inn management team
