We enjoy our visit. Everything is close by. Beds were comfy enough. TV is outdated, but it worked great. Wifi picked up. Free breakfast in the morning. Cameras everywhere. Front Desk lady was a sweetheart.

I booked the Mountaineer Inn because it was the least expensive on a trip I needed to take for a Dr's visit. Can't say I regret it. The shower is small and the hotel is basically a bare bones room, but it was much better than the roach motel I was expecting. The rooms are clean and the bed is...

This is NOT a motel for those with 4 star expectations. This IS a motel for those with a sense of humour and a flair for the funky. It's very inexpensive, the rooms are clean, if a bit worn, but everything works from the wifi ( very fast) to the TV ( flat screen). The decor has hardly changed from...

Given the name we thought we would be in the great outdoors. They may have been there thirty years ago. But today they are in what we call a city. But still a nice place to stay. Great and friendly staff. Took a cab into Ashville for dinner and drinks.Great night. Safe accommodations upon our return. Would stay here again.

Far from elegant but clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Clean bathrooms, lots of hot water and good, free wifi. Friendly, helpful staff (they printed out a crossword puzzle from the web for our trip home) and great location. Free breakfast. You can't beat it for the price.

We spent two nights here during our visit to Asheville. The hotel personnel were very pleasant and helpful for all our needs. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate and the coffee was very good. Our room was clean with a feel of ozark charm. The price was very good. We will probably stay again on our next visit...

I stayed at this motel just one night. I was attracted by the old-fashioned theme, complete with swinging wooden doors and chairs outside your room to enjoy a smoke. My room was clean and adequately furnished, though a bit small. I liked the paneling on the walls; it was a nice break from chain hotel rooms, which are often plain...

My family of 4 ended up having to get a room here at the last minute. We had made reservations for the weekend at a different hotel, but something happened and the original place had no room for us. It was Friday evening and Mountaineer Inn was the only place with vacancies. They should not be allowed to charge more...

I read the review first and the last couple months stated it was clean. I knew it was an older hotel so wasnt't sure. We still booked for two nights and very pleased! It is in a GREAT location! The room is dated but very clean. The staff were nice and helpful. They do not provide little soaps and shampoo...

My wife and I were in Asheville to visit the Biltmore Mansion and picked this place cuz it was cheap. But it was great. This place will take you back to the time when little motels like this dotted the country before the Comfort Inns, Marriots and Hiltons took over. The rooms are small (cozy), clean and need updating. But...
