We have been traveling and staying at B&B's for over 25 years and can say the Oakland Cottage is one of the best we have ever experienced. Top notch staff with delicious gourmet breakfasts thanks to Christine and Dale. The rooms are spacious and very...More
Great stay. We stayed in the suite with the private entrance. Clean and well appointed. The common areas are beautiful. Shaded parking. Convenient Uber rides to town. Short drive to Carrier park for a morning walk. We were very impressed with the breakfasts. Beautiful presentation,...More
My wife and I stayed here for a short babymoon. The place is super beautiful and the hosts are super nice and accommodating. We stayed in the Magnolia room and it is quite comfortable with its own mini fridge and seating area. Definitely,we recommend it.

Thanks for your inquiry. I do not think it is an easy walk to the main/fun part of downtown. It is just a little too far - about 1.5 mile to the Orange Peel (music hall), 2 miles to downtown's Pack Monument (I consider this monument to be town center). I recommend driving and parking in one of the garages. All the garages are free first hour, $1.00 each hour thereafter (except for special events - $7-10 ea visit).
