I have stayed in a number of Renaissance hotels and would describe this one as below average for Renaissance standards. Especially the whole tub/shower bathroom are was in really bad shape and really old, low ceilings. The hotel itself is fine, but other Renaissance hotels I have stayed at are much nicer.

Evidently this hotel has begun calling their employees "Navigators". With that in mind, we expected a hassle-free experience, arriving mid-week in the "off-season" (a navagator's term). We checked in using the Marriott mobile app and at the front desk, we were told by Mayla (a navigator) that we had been "upgraded" to a mountain view room. She gave us our...

One of the reasons we stayed here was because of the reviews of location. Unfortunately because of the weather and us not being familiar with the area we weren't able to walk everywhere. There are other hotels located more in the "downtown area" that seemed to be within walking distance from everywhere. However for the price of this hotel ($187...

The hotel is in a great spot, you can walk anywhere in downtown Asheville you want to. Had my dog with me once and the fee is $75 which is very reasonable, especially for a hotel of this caliber. The rooms are great, beds very comfortable and the views if you get on the one side are great of the...

My wife and I visited the Renaissance in Asheville for a weekend getaway to explore the city and check out the Biltmore Estate. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown within a short walk of tons of restaurants and shops. Head out the back door and there are a dozen restaurants within an easy 5 minute walk. The hotel staff...

I recently visited this Marriott hotel and it is located very centrally in downtown Asheville in close proximity to some great restaurants. That's about the nicest thing I can say about the hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated (if a tad small) but very lackluster and once you're in the room, you could be anywhere in the world. (READ -...

We were only here for one night but it was a great stay. As a Platinum member I was upgraded to a suite. There is no Concierge lounge but we were upgraded to the full breakfast buffet at no cost, not just the continental breakfast. This kind of service is why I keep going back to Marriott. Location was great,...

looked like a standard hotel not a renaissance, tiny bar, small menu, over priced dinning area, warned by others not to use it. as a platium member we were upgraded for the buffet breakfast.....very nice. we weren't offered an upgraded room which is part of the program. Not far from town. Trolley stops there

This Rennaissance is the nicest and cleanest hotel in the city! Their staff is extremely polite and helpful and the rooms are very spacious. The restaurant is worth a visit, everything we tried was delightful! We also were able to see the sunrise over the mountains in the morning. Great little get away!
