We stayed here for one night whilst travelling down the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hotel was very empty when we arrived, but we were shown every available room and were able to choose our favourite. I think our room was one of the best i have ever had. The view was of mountain tops. The bed was huge and very...

We cant wait to find an excuse to come back. There is much to commend this 'Gem' of a 12 room hotel. The setting, off Elk Mountain Scenic Hwy, hidden in the woods, has lovely views from the six rooms on upper floor. From 'civilization' north Asheville a windy six or so miles and from access to the Parkway about...

I had no idea what to expect at the Sourwood Inn, though I was looking for somewhere beautiful to just relax, do some hiking, and not have to go anywhere - while having the option to explore Asheville. I was amazed and delighted by what I found. The inn is designed in the Arts & Crafts style and is spacious...

We had a wonderful stay here at the Inn. Listening to the women talking and making breakfast in the early morning, while I had some coffee on the back porch reminded me of a time and wonderful memory of a time listening to my grandma and mom while they were making breakfast on a visit to Kansas when I was...

Beautiful place with super friendly staff. It truly is away from it all, with no TV in rooms, no cell phone reception for my carrier, and no wi-fi. But that was fine with me! All the rooms are large and beautiful. Susan, the owner's daughter and primary innkeeper, is awesome! She was always smiling and had all sorts of helpful...

One of our favorite B & B we have ever stayed at, if not our very favorite! It is a "hidden" gem of a place that we hope to return to again. The drive to Sourwood is up a winding road and once you leave the road, the "driveway" is also winding and not paved until you get to the...

We wanted to do something special for Father's Day weekend. This was perfect!!! We stayed here last fall and it was equally as AWESOME then!!! There are fireplaces in the rooms and a balcony to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. We got amazing pictures to share with friends and family. Perfect accomodations. Owners and staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting. Uniquely crafted building, porch and patio. Located less than 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Excellent breakfasts. A wide variety of foods.

Sourwood Inn is nestled in the woods north of Asheville and therein lies the only potential negative that I see, as well as part of its charm. From Asheville you can access it either from the Blue Ridge Parkway from the southeast side of town or by following Merrimon Ave. from downtown and making a couple of turns on the...

The Sourwood Inn is a very beautiful and serene mountain getaway with gorgeous mountain views. It is decorated beautifully with sort of a Japanese/Navajo theme that is very pleasing. Large deck with nice rocking chairs; inside sitting area that’s very nice and comfortable. Delicious snacks served in the afternoon. Nice trail on-site for a little light hiking. We stayed in...
