Everything you’d expect from a Marriott property. Heads up on the rooms facing west, overlooking Broadway. The afternoon sun is bright in the summer and the air conditioning can’t keep up. If you need sub 70 degrees to sleep, this could be a problem. That’s the only reason for the 3 star rating. Everything else was just fine.
Stayed May 19 for 4 nights. Hotel was clean, friendly staff. Parking cost $15/night. Upon leaving, after checkout our pass did not work for us to leave. This was at 6AM, however the problem was fixed ASAP. Just a glitch. Just note that you have to stay at least 2 or 3 nights to get room cleaning. I think this is due to lack of employees. Great location and lots of services and good restaurants near by. Prices were high and their rates are non refundable. I would stay here again.
Very easy to get in and out of and in the middle of it all. Staff was very friendly and made a very quick check-in. The room was nice and everything was provided except a bath robe. The roof top restaurant and bar was very inviting and gave a great panoramic view of the city and mountains.
Very clean. Friendly staff. Easy walking to many downtown spots. Longer walk to south slope breweries. Very close to many restaurants and the Grove Arcade. Parking easy. Gym small but adequate. Rooftop bar was okay. Would stay again.
We stayed here on a Thurs and Fri night. Our room was clean, and I appreciate the layout and the leather like sofa (no fabric feels more sanitary to me). The hotel location is great and convenient for walking around downtown Asheville. The employees at the front desk were professional but seemed indifferent. I attribute this more to training and management than I do to them individually. When I received my key at check-in, the front desk did not recognize me as an Envoy member or offer us any info on hotel amenties, parking or internet. They only told us what we were NOT getting which was housekeeping. So, although this weak welcome did not ruin our stay, it certainly did not encourage us to return to this hotel or the Mariott brand.
