All in all, nothing special about this hotel. The rooms are certainly dated with what appears to still be most appointments from the time the building was converted to a hotel in 1986. The lobby has a strange smell and the rooms have not been aired out and have a bit of a musty smell. Windows don’t open so just imagine a room that has not had any fresh air since 1986. For the amount paid for a nights stay, one should expect more. What is especially disappointing really has nothing to do with the rooms or our stay. It is the fact this is a very historic building built in 1927 as a Bon Marche department store that later became an Ivey’s. Not many original features of the building are evident in the interior other than a feeble attempt to show a few mannequins dressed in various period styles. Whoever was the architect and developer of the property certainly missed the mark. To see what is possible with the redevelopment of an historic building in Asheville, visit the Grove Arcade just up the street from this hotel. What a magnificent example of how to restore a building to its former self.

Outstanding hotel with incredible service. The rooms are enormous. The staff is more than accommodating and the overall stay matches up with the expense. Definitely a unique experience and highly recommend this hotel. We parked our car on Friday and picked it up on Sunday. You are located in the heart of everything. The breakfast at Isas Bostro which is included is outstanding.

My wife and I stayed at the Haywood Park Hotel in downtown Asheville for three nights. The room was huge, with very comfy furniture and a nice view of the city. We had the included breakfast at Isa's Bistro, which is the restaurant next door, and it was very good. The only two issues we had with this stay was the internet was very slow (I ended up using my phone's hotspot), and the area around the hotel has quite a few homeless people roaming the streets while you shop or dine. Other than that, we had a great experience here.

This was the second time I have stayed here this year. I love the location, the staff is great at both the hotel and the restaurant. Will definitely visit again. The food and drinks are worth checking out and it seems to be a popular place.

The male working June 5th around 8:30 pm was rude and we did not even have sheets blankets or pillows in room for the pullout couch for our child. For the price we paid for the room housekeeping should have made the bed for us instead the female got her makeup on the sheet and just plopped it by the front door. We paid for valet and was told to just go to the garage and get our car when we wanted to go to the gas station to get some milk because room service was not available to us
