I stayed at the lizard for a solid week in february on a climbing trip; it has a great community vibe and it's in Moab. Also the lazy lizard is super low price with a lot of great amenities like a hot shower, comfy bed and friendly staff!

I commend the staff (gentleman at the front desk was very kind) for being helpful and sociable. We crashed here recently during our Moab visit. Pros: safe parking, room to grill outside, laundry machines for $1 each, inexpensive cons: laundry didn't get dry in the dryer, bathrooms were not very clean (mostly guys there that night), hairs all over the...

This Lazy Lizard gives you a lot of options for a great price: camp on the property, dorm bunks, private rooms, and self-catering kitchen. You will meet a lot of interesting people- international adventurers, and mountain wanderers who use the backpackers as a base camp. We searched for the place because it is part of the setting (under a different...

Becky, I am familiar with Lena Roy's book "Edges". She was kind enough to send me a copy. Sorry I didn't get the chance to discuss it with you. I guess I need to pass the book around to the staff. Glad you liked your stay. Scott

We stayed at the Lizard for 4 nights in November to adventure in Moab. At 12 bucks a night per person, we stayed in a private room, each to our own bed. The beds were not exactly comfy cozy, and a few springs jabbed in to our backs, but after hiking all day, they felt great. The hostel staff was...

Was in moab for a few days on an adventure tour with my motorcycle and stayed at LL. Was a really great place to meet other riders on similar bikes. I was there in November and it was really cold, we even got a few snow flakes falling on one ride but the hostel has a wood heater and the...

The place is tucked behind a storage facility and looks a bit sketchy. Our cabin was cozy and had a nice little covered porch with nice chairs and a table. We had electric, a roof and a mattress for only a few dollars more than camping so we were happy. The bathrooms were clean but in sad shape. The fridge...

I found out about the Lazy Lizard from a sign while driving down the main street. I was in a bind as it was getting late, the closest campsites were full and I didnt want to pay $79+ just for somewhere to pee & sleep for a night. It was not easy to find in the dark as the location...

This hostel reminds me of many other fun hostels I've stayed while backpacking in Australia and New Zealand. So if you happened to have traveled there, you get the idea. Except this is America, so you can park your car in front of the cabin. It has cosy cabins and the bathroom and restroom facilities are outside. You have to...

First the good: 1. The staff are quite friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate you, have a good knowledge of the area and will go out of their way to help you out. 2. The building is kept clean. They clean the bathrooms, kitchen and rooms daily. They even made my bed for me! Now...

There's a big difference between a hostel and a hotel and I feel a lot more comfortable in the latter. The Lazy Lizard is situated behind a storage facility off the main street in Moab and feels very industrial. It's difficult to find, but only a couple of miles from the main tourist area. It's very dark so if you're...

Well this isn't an entirely unfair review. (if I was going to quibble I would point out the the cabins are 12 x 12 or 12 x 14, not 9x9, but they are not overly large) We have known for a long time that The Lazy Lizard is not for everybody. There will always be those people who prefer the...
