The bame is a little deceiving. The hotel is half way between a motel with outside corridors, and a hotel. My room was quite noisy, particularly when neighbors were talking, or closing doors, which might just be a function of the super powerfull spring that slams the metal door shut. The room is full of surprises. One main puzzeling feature...

Dear traevlpaul480, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Regarding our "Sink Positive" feature on top of the toilet, essentially, it is designed for one to wash their hands after using the toilet, as the water being dispensed is fresh, clean water that gets placed into the reservoir for the next flush. It's a great...

The Good Hotel would be more aptly dubbed "The Ordinary Hotel". I stayed here as part of an organised Topdeck tour, to which I was shocked and disappointed. First off, this hotel is located right near the Tenderloin district, which is known to be a little unsavoury. Lots of drugs and homelessness around the area. Besides the not-so-kosher neighbourhood, the...

Dear Elana M, Thank you for your review about your recent stay with us. I am sorry to hear that you had a less than favorable impression about our hotel and our accommodations, as we are continuously making improvements to better serve our guests. The SoMA (South of Market) neighborhood is a vibrant and up and coming area. Although by...

I strongly advise no one to stay here! Gangs everywhere and homeless people high on drugs and very crazy! Do not walk around this with any valuable items as me and my family had to run to the hotel as we were being followed by men! We booked another hotel as soon as we got back to the hotel and...

Contrary to the other reviews I have read I really liked this hotel. I used the BART to get to the hotel and it was really easy to find. Although the check in lady wasnt very welcoming, the other staff (especially the cleaners) were very nice and friendly. The lift is very old and slow but I just used the...

We pre booked and paid ahead two months for six nights. On arrival we were given a room, no air conditioner, fridge and on fifth(top) floor with only a small slow lift that even services had to share. As well they wanted $35 a night for open car parking outside rooms in courtyard. This we were able to get down to...

We are travelling around the US and decided not to spend a whole lot of money on hotels (but on things to do) So I do realize we opted for budget hotels. But this was (for the price of 119$ a night, without parking fee) below my expectations The room was clean and the bed was good. And it ends...

We loved how central this was to so many great restaurants but the beds and the pillow will leave us nursing our joints as we spend the day walking the city. Staff was pleasant and for San Fransisco the price was excellent.

This was an awful place.  The rooms were very small, only twin or double beds. It was very noisy - you could hear footsteps above, voices in the hall and rooms. The room smelled of so much Febreze I thought I would have an allergy attack. And the neighborhood is transitional at best. The staff was accommodating and moved our...

Not much to look at, inside or out, but when we realized we overlooked the bed situation, Ashley at the front desk not only upgraded us for free, she also was able to comp our parking and helped us locate a local attraction in Union Square. Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
