We stayed here on her first 3 nights in San Francisco of a California trip. Although this hotel had the smallest rooms of all the hotels on the trip it was still good for Travelodge standards compared to the UK. Raymond & Bruce were great in giving advice about where to go public transport etc. This hotel is not central...

The plant is old, but it is clean and well maintained, the housekeepers are efficient and friendly, but the real draw here is Raymond, the excellent concierge. The level of personal service he provides is amazing. He has guests from all over the globe with varying degrees of proficiency in English, and manages to cheerfully give directions and advice to...

Very good and relatively quiet location at the end of Lombard Street. A stop for bus line 30 is only 3 blocks away, which makes it easy to reach other destinations in the city, e.g. the Wharf. The concierges Raymond and Bruce were very nice and helped us a lot with directions or useful information about popular destinations. Rooms were...

Very kind staff; Bruce is great !! Rooms seem a little too small with two Kids and lots og luggage. One mattress was too weak in the middle; both sleepers fell into the "middle-hole"; mattress-quality could be better and more comfortable Bathroom-door needs some drops of oil; it wakes up the sleepers at night But overall great stay and will...

This is a nice little hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the wharf or downtown area. Nice for anyone who wants to walk in Presidio area. We bought a $14 bus pass to use on trolley and busses to get where we wanted to go, and kept our car parked in the VERY small parking lot. The front...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
