Gorgeous hotel on Nob Hill. My room was very well appointed and comfortable. The staff at the hotel vey friendly and helpful. My room was very pretty with a great bed and nice frette linens. Our floor was very loud a few of the nights with people that drank a bit too much and made sleeping difficult yelling and banging...

Staff was very accommodating -- they upgraded our room because our son joined us last minute -- at no extra charge. The location is enviable; the bar quaint, cozy and personable; the rooms clean and comfortable; and the bed -- the bed is sink-into-and-sleep-like-a-log. When you go, go with a credit or discounted rate and you will feel like a...

Growing up in SF, I had been here before, having lunch with my grandparents when I was a child, working security at an electronics show, and a KTVU Christmas party in the penthouse back in the 90's. It's a great hotel, with a lot of history. It's fun to stroll the hallways, looking at the photos of old San Francisco,...

One of the best places ever. Centrally located on Nob Hill. Trolley close. China Town close. Property is amazing. Beautiful views of San Francisco from upper level rooms. Excellent in every way. Would be hard to beat.

We stayed for 3 nights, great location, great hotel, couldn't ask for better. Very close to Union Square and some great restaurants. Be ready for the hills in San Francisco, but well worth a visit. We will come back, thank you for a great stay.

The receptionist who checked My Dearest and me into the Fairmont San Francisco treated us like an IRS agent auditing our tax returns. No smile. No welcome. The receptionist just grabbed My Dearest’s credit card and stared at his computer. When I asked a question he responded in the same tone of voice as a tax collector who had caught...

Stayed here for 3 nights over labor day weekend. The hotel met all our expectations for a fine hotel. The room (king suite with bay view) was very nicely furnished, had a terrific view and the amenities were fine. The hotel itself has a grand reception area, a very nice restaurant (Laurel court) and excellent fitness facility in the lower...

I like to travel and stay in nice hotels. This was a major disappointment for me. It was expensive, but didn't feel like luxury service or accommodations. When I did my research it was between The Fairmont & Lowes Regency. Next time I would try the Lowes Regency.

My husband and I recently spent a night here to celebrate our 52nd anniversary. Yes, it was much more expensive than most places we stay when we travel, but it was worth every penny (dollar!) from our arrival to valet parking and the doorman greeting us to a perfect finale of a room service breakfast with Mimosas. Our room (434)...

The Fairmont San Francisco was the first hotel to bear the Fairmont name. Having enjoyed a long illustrious history thus far, I was excited to get a chance to stay in it. Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
