The SF Marriott Marquis really is a gem in a bustling city. The lobby is spacious and comfortable with several options for food and/or drinks. The lobby shop is perfect for any forgotten toiletries or snacks. The staff was wonderful throughout our visit. From the valet staff to housekeeping to the front desk staff and bell staff we had a...

Knew it would be a great hoel for my convention, but would be happy to stay again as long as I could get our corner room with great view of both the Bay and SF hills. Yes, it's large, but the staff went out of their way to give personalized service, from lounge staff to concierge to bellman. Wonderful selection...

we stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend to attend a conference but also to do a bit of sightseeing. Check in was quick ( about 6 pm on a Friday) and friendly. We had several rooms and they were all in very good condition. Elevators are split into low medium and high rise towers so that does help spread...

As you mentioned our location perfect for walking to the Moscone Convention Center then off to nearby attractions, shopping and fine dining. Hope you and your colleagues were able to see all you toured from above on the 39th floor in...

Stayed for one night before a trip to Napa. This hotel definitely has lots of business travelers, but we had a good stay as well while there for pleasure. Check in was easy and front desk staff was helpful. There is a Starbucks and rental car agency in the hotel and a Target right across the street. There is also...

This Marriott is in a good location. The rooms are clean but dated. Check in and check out can take exceedingly long times; there are few people at the front desk even when large conference groups are coming in. The hotel food is average at best. Avoid the Starbucks at the back of the lobby - its prices are EXORBITANT...

Dear GeorgeFMarkhamON, We’re so happy you enjoyed our central location and the cleanliness of the hotel. Have you heard Marriott’s Mobile App has been update? There is a Check-In & Check Out feature which may assist in expediting your arrival and departure experiences. We are in the process of building a new Marketplace, The Mission Street Pantry, which will have...

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights last week. We booked it and payed in advance and saved a ton of money on a good hotel! Everything was good; check in, bedding, shower, clean room, fast elevators. friendly staff. Plus the location is great if you forgot something at home, with a Target right across the street. Stayed 3 nights for a conference at the Moscone Center. While the room decor was nice I found the hotel very pricey for what was offered. There is also a strong tendency to nickel and dime you from the $65 parking to the $30 breakfast buffet. Heaven help you if the remove an item from the minibar. No useable minifridge...

No better choice in SFO. It's large, so can feel like a train terminus in the lobby, but the Marriott beds are sublime, no better sleep to be found. On top of that there is a fabulous bar on the top floor that gives you a spectacular view of the city after you come back from a hard day of...

Stayed here for 5 days while attending a conference within the hotel. Very attentive staff - especially the Concierge staff who were friendly and very efficient. Loved the location - close to many shops and restaurants. Best place - the bar on the 39th floor. Amazing view and ambience. Would go back to the Marriot again!

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
