My first review of this hotel was a spectacular one but that was during pre-COVID times... Now - Only One Hint can be given - STAY AWAY! Hotel completely forgot they are in the hospitality business . As soon we were at the lobby checking in, I was harassed by one the security guards about not wearing a mask. He did not stop even when I told him that I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing one. He demanded documentation from a doctor, and threatened me with taking further actions if I will not obey, his quote: "We will take other route!" I wondered what route that might be? ' Police? But police would be on my side as anyone with disability covered by The Americans with Disabilities Act <<The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.>> Other desk agents witnessed the ordeal but did not interfere and silently allowed the interrogation while my partner was getting the room keys. Needless to mention, that no one else was there in a spacious lobby, I was away from reception but yet guard did not mind to violate "social distance" rule and placed himself within two feet of me. What a way to greet a Titanium Elite member at the property! I was truly looking forward to a stay but the greetings and each time that I had to pass the lobby put a dump on the experience and it would never be erased of memories. Housekeeping, on another hand was remarkable and provided impeccable daily service, which I am grateful for, as many other hotels do skip the cleaning routine (saving a dime I guess). The M club lounge was closed, and only $10,00 coupon was provided to use daily in the coffee shop that is in the lobby which can buy you two medium coffee cups. The soundproof has deteriorated and you can hear everyone next to you or above you, there is a sound machine by bedside to reduce exterior sounds but that was not helpful. Considering that it is a high rise hotel with low occupancy rate it seems front office would of wanted to create a social distance among guests but no -placing them all on the same floor is more sufficient I guess, or so it appeared. We stayed in the city for another week, just chosen another hotel after few nights as I could not longer bear the encounters with COVID guards on the floor.

Checked in with my family April 1st in this hotel. Knowing the industry is still reeling from the effects of the pandemic, I didn’t expect a pre pandemic service in any business involving hospitality since there won’t be enough staff in a facility. However, the staff in the front desk of this hotel just made our experience unpalatable. I am a gold elite member of Marriott, this just means some extra perks, one of those would be a room upgrade (based on availability). I am very well aware that room upgrades could be a room with a better view, a room on the upper floor, if lucky, a REAL room upgrade like a suite. When I checked in, the lady at the front desk said there is no room upgrade. She verbatimly said “you get what you paid for, if you got a double then you get a double”. So I respectfully said that I’m a gold elite member. She then said, there’s no upgrade since there’s no room available. This got me irritated already as she just flat out denies my request all the time. So I opened the Marriott app and checked if there are any rooms available. And lo and behold, there were plenty. So I showed her, then she shifted her position like there’s not enough manpower to they are very busy. Look, I am not asking for something that’s very hard to get. I am not asking for anything that’s not a privilege that I could get. I am not asking for the moon and the stars. All I ask is HONESTY, GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE and to take advantage of the benefits of my membership.

We arrived late in the evening, exhausted from a long trip. After checking in as a platinum member, no assistance was given with my bags from the bell service. The front desk had the excuse that everyone was laid off due to Covid. As an elite member, no m lounge access, no upgrade was given (even after a request). The front desk staff was full of excuses and offered no remedy for my concerns. Never again will i stay at this location and i will seriously reconsider my loyalty to the brand based on this stay.

This hotel continues to amaze me. The Staff, Location, and Room Quality are all highlights. Upon arrival, we were greeting by Sylvia. She is an excellent ambassador for the Marriott Brand and she represents this hotel chain exceptionally and professionally very well! I ran into a small issue with my membership number. I had give the old Marriott number, but Sylvia quickly recognized it and courteously asked me if I had the new Bonvoy number (which I did). Sylvia's expertise in the process, and her professional personality were a winning combination. She is also an expert in the local area and was able to provide us with local Covid closures and recommended places to eat. We really appreciated her help and I hope that management recognizes what a wonderful employee they have. One of the first things you will notice about this hotel is the spacious architecture. The front desk area accommodates several parties at a time, and they have shields up to provide social distancing. There are sanitation stations all over the hotel for your safety as well. The room door provides excellent security with electronic locks, and double locking devices on the inside. The rooms are large and spacious. There are a couple of tables and a nice sofa for relaxing or getting some office work done. This is a nice alternative to sitting on the bed or a single chair. The thermostat is easy to set and use. It held the room temperature consistently at the desired setting and no further adjustments were necessary. There is a small refrigerator and a coffee pot available. This was nice because there is a hot/cold food Pantry downstairs so you will have a place to store food if it requires refrigeration. The TV has plenty of stations and the remote is easy to use. One of my personal issues with hotels is when there are no outlets next to the bed for plugging in items or simply recharging devices. That was not an issue at this Marriott property. There are plenty of outlets with regular plugs as well as USB connecting options. These options were available on the wall platform and the CubieTime clock on the night stand next to the bed. As mentioned earlier, there is a Pantry located downstairs just off of the main lobby. You can order salads or hot foods as well as have snacks that you can pick up yourself. Because of this hotel's location, there are also plenty of places nearby (within walking distance) to eat. There is a security staff at the main entrance so feeling safe is a good feeling. Overall, this is one of my favorite hotels and I would highly recommend it to all of my friends. It is excellent for business trips as well as just a quick get-away to see the city of San Francisco. Give it a try and be sure to say hello to Sylvia and the rest of the staff. I'm sure that they will help make your stay a memorable experience!
