Hey, the internet speed is ok. The bathroom tub was fresh, modern, up to date, and looked great. Ok, now that I've said everything positive that I possibly can....... The air conditioner sucks. It is the freeze or too hot, no in between type. And I had to get moved to a room with a working air conditioner because the air condition was broken. The soda machine was broken. The elevator was broken. I couldn't get a receipt at check out because the system was (you guessed it) broken. The door lock was....c'mon...whats the word of the day? Broken. The ad said that it had copy and business services. It did not. There was parking on site. Eight parking spaces. Total. Including employees. I'm not exaggerating. The alley behind the hotel was home to quite a few homeless. Not the hotel's fault, but its something you'd wanna know about before you went there. I'll admit it, I stayed there because the price was good. Even taking that into consideration, it disappointed. It is near the civic center and near Van Ness, so that part is a good thing. I should move the previous sentence to the top with the other positive comments, but I'm not gonna. Dont. Stay. Here. Note: This may change. There were people there working on it. Lots of construction within the hotel. I think someone bought a condemned building, made it legal and is now trying to turn it into an actual place someone might want to stay. Check back in a couple years. Or don't. Also, surprisingly, there are four star reviews of this. They must ALL be shills. Just saying. Oh, and it is a MOTEL, not a HOTEL. (In a hotel, the door to your room opens to inside. A Motel, the door to your room opens to the outside). I point this out specifically, because that photo deceives you into thinking it is a hotel. Because I look for that sort of thing before booking. You should too.…
The Rodeway Inn, Civic Centre, is my preferred hotel in San Francisco. It is extremely basic but is superbly located on Eddy Street at Van Ness. This puts it smack in the middle of the Tenderloin area, which is perhaps not the haunt of the gentry. That said, I find there is a huge amount of character in the area and it is much closer to being the real San Francisco. I have never, ever felt unsafe though I would recommend using common sense in not displaying valuables or cash. But it would be foolish to do that in any city, including the more gentrified areas of San Francisco. My room was clean and very comfortable and had been recently refurbished. It was of a good size. I arrived very late due to issues at the airport and it was gone midnight when I turned up. Staff were very welcoming both at check-in and checkout and I felt I received a genuine welcome. Remaining rooms are in the course of being refurbished. There was a lift and also an ice machine. Had the lift been working I would’ve given five stars.…
The room is very nice, Comfortable bed, good shower and very clean. Area around it not the best but the hotel can’t help that. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very good location to see stuff. Short bus ride to ocean or beach we parked car and never used it. Pronto pizza was a great little pizza shop next door.
Good location in Civic Center, modest but clean up to date room with adequate amenities at economical pricing. Need to confirm parking availability or be informed of cost for overnight parking. Lacking immediate food or beverage amenities if seeking more than overnight sleeping accommodations..
Very nice stay. Location was great . Parking was little tight . The new Manager Ben was absolutely incredible and helpful. Will definitely be back when in frisco next time. Over all very nice experience with this motel.
