Stayed here for one night in July. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The hotel is within walking distance of the Wharf as well as most of the dining options in the area. No concierge lounge at this Marriott but they do give you bonus points or breakfast buffet in their restaurant area. We found that in the morning...

The is a great location! Our rooms were ready at 9:30 am after we drove from Napa. I believe that John the concierge is probably the best ever! He told the front desk of our arrival and he was able to help us with a tour that we had our heart set on! John went out of his way and...

I recently spent a couple of nights at the Marriott Fisherman's Wharf for business. The rooms were clean, nice size and seemed to be recently updated. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Short walk to the Fisherman's Wharf - lots of gift shops, restaurants, cafe's etc. WiFi and Breakfast buffet prices were both pretty outrageous - but it's...

We staying at the Marriott Fisherman's Wharf for three nights-it is a great hotel for seeing San Francisco. We arrived a day earlier than our tour and were so glad we did. We walked all around Fisherman's Wharf and took the cable car to Union Square and walked back. Each day we would do another direction. There are so many...

Staff was excellent. We arrived early and was given an early check-in. Our room was noisy as it was right above a street level bar. Requested a new room and was accommodated quickly. Very good service. Hotel right across the street from Fisherman 's Wharf.

This hotel is very in a very good location, close to Fishermans Wharf, 4 min to walk to be down at the low end of the pier. Besides the 2 main Cable Car stations are also very close. A bus stop right in the front of the hotel bringing you to Union Square is also an advantage for travellers using...

We stayed here for one night on our trip back from Napa. It was easy to find, convenient to some of the major and very busy tourists attractions - Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz Ferry, Embarcadero, Coit Tower, Buena Vista and the famous cable cars. We also walked to Washington Square/North Beach where you will find so many incredible places to eat....

This hotel is good with the sort of rooms you'd expect, but they are charging $12.95 per day for internet at 1MBPS. That is pathetic these days. I get faster and better connections in first world countries such as Kenya.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
