Arrived late from Hawaii for a brief overnight stay. Reception area very nice and rooms recently renovated I think. Beds really comfortable, though some rooms don’t have windows. We had a great check in with a really helpful receptionist who pointed us to a bar...More
It was important for us to not be in a chain. We like family run establishments and this family knows its hospitality. We were thoroughly impressed. From the front desk welcoming and efficiency to the decor and size of our room. We loved it all....More
Arrived very early (9AM) on a Saturday morning and they were able to give us a room! We were expecting to just drop our bags at the bell desk, so it was great to be able to freshen up after our early flight. Hotel is...More
Didn't get the cheapest room, wonder how small that would be. The view? It has a frosted window,if you open it there is a long tunnel to a bit of sky and a nasty roof. Yuck. I only noticed a couple hairs on the bathroom...More

Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Hi, you can walk to the Union Square to view the monument tower and there are usually events or exhibitions at the Square on weekends. You can walk towards along Grant avenue to Chinatown and Dragon Gate. You can walk South to Market Street to where all the shopping malls and cinema theatre is. You can walk east towards Mission Street to Yerba Buena Gardens where the Martin Luther King Memorial and St Patrick’s Church is. You can take the cable car from Powell Street to Fisherman Wharf to spend the whole day. Alternatively, there is a double deck bus picking up passengers for ride around San Francisco at Geary Street besides Union Square. Nearest BART is Powell Station. Eating places are all around - Western, Mexican, Thai, Chinese. And there is 24 hr Jack in the Box just 100 meters from the hotel. If you are coming from SFO airport with family and luggage, Uber would be best best. Hotel provides free SF and walking map.
