Stayed here for the first time. We were on the 3rd floor (remember there are no elevators) but the view was worth it. We asked for a double room. The 2nd bed was in it's own room which was great. These rooms are not fancy, but they are clean & the location can't be beat.

A basic hotel. Fine for families. You'd expect to pay $70 - $90 if it were not in San Francisco. Pros: Location on the ocean and next to Golden Gate park. Clean quiet comfortable room. Wifi adequate. Refrigerator and microwave. Plenty of floor space with a desk and table. Pleasant staff. The coffee was ok. Pastries and fruit provided in...

Surprised by the condition of this facility. It is an older motel located one block from the beach and one block from Golden Gate Park. Only one block from a turnaround for the municipal bus lines. Amazed by the up graded rooms - very clean. We had a bottom floor room and was very happy. Will return! PS. Free Parking

We were in San Francisco for a vacation and opted not to stay downtown. The Great Highway Inn is walking distance to Ocean Beach. It is also just a block and a half from the MUNI line on Judas St. which was nice, as that is how we got downtown. Our room was comfortable and it was obvious that improvements...

We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and the location is excellent if you are visiting Golden Gate Park/Beach Chalet. It is walking distance to the park and Ocean Beach. We had a room in the older building. The walls had peeling paint and marks/stains on them. There were wires running up and down the walls. The place served...

The room actually has two parts, including a living room which is separate from the bedroom. The property is not new but in a great location by the beach. Some (not all) rooms have an ocean view. You could walk to a streetcar station. The only issue I had was the free wifi was not working well for me. Enjoyed...

There was some type of conference happening in San Francisco so not many affordable options were left - yeah this place had a prime beach location, but was pretty far away if you are a tourist looking to do things in the city and different neighbourhoods. It was like a $20 uber/$35 cab ride to get downtown where all the...

Nice and big rooms, at least in the part of the hotel that was renovated. Close to the beach, free parking, close to the tramway. But : - There was nearly no breakfast (only coffee with some pastries without a table to sit. - The toilet was clogged when we arrived, and the guy at the lobby was reluctant to...

About the best to be said about the Great Highway Inn is that it's right across the street from the beach in the Outer Sunset part of town. It's also located just below Golden Gate Park and north of the SF Zoo. Transportation to crosstown/downtown destinations on the MUNI is easy from the N train at Judah two blocks south....

I decided the day before to visit someone and called the hospital for hotels that were close, this one was the only one opened and found it on Expedia. It was rated 2 stars, it was 5.5 miles from UCSF and was easy to find. I paid $167 plus fees, so it was about $185. Next time I will go...
