We stayed at the Hotel Drisco because our children live in Pac Heights but don't have any extra space and it was a 10 minute walk to their apartment. The class of service is the highest level. The rooms are beautifully appointed and nothing is left unconsidered from the quality of the products to their range, including fragrance and glass bottles for water that are eco-friendly. Then there are the extra touches: the turn down service, the arranging of car service to the airport, to the pillow selection and noise canceling/white noise sleep machine. And, as other have noted: location, location, location. If you are looking to be wowed, look no further. Hotel Drisco is the only place we'll ever stay in SF! (Don't tell our kids...but let's hope they don't get a bigger apartment!!!)
This is a perfect boutique hotel. It is in a beautifully decorated historic building in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. You feel like you are stepping back in time when entering. It is a gorgeous facility. The staff is incredibly friendly. The morning breakfast and the evening wine and appetizer reception were amazing. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to return.
My first reaction is that I'm ruined. Hotel Drisco was so impressive that it left me wondering why all hotels can't be this great. They really are above everyone else. The room was absolutely perfect in decor, cleanliness, and amenities. The glass bottle with filtered water everyday was just exceptional. At night to come back to coffee in beautiful china cups was impressive and a detail that I didn't know I would come to love and miss. When I return to San Fran there is no other place I would considering staying. THANK YOU!
We love this hotel! It's located in a beautiful area and you can walk to restaurants and shops. The staff is always so friendly. Their "continental breakfast" is a full breakfast spread with eggs to order and they have a wonderful happy hour too, all in a cozy home like setting. The rooms are fresh and clean. You can actually open the windows too! It is expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Hotel Drisco not only met the expectations but exceeded 110%. No Covid excuses to limit services or amenities, just 1st class of everything that left you feeling great that you chose this hotel to stay. Yes the amenities were outstanding , bathroom had everything you could ask for, shower was excellent , the beds more then comfortable and you had a choice of the type of pillow you wanted. Breakfast is included and is outstanding well beyond anyones expectations. There is a wine hour with snacks every evening also part of your stay. Then here is the best part all the staff were magnificent, friendly and made me feel as if I was staying with my family ( the ones I like) If you are in San Francisco don’t even think about another hotel, nothing else comes close.
Objectively the best hotel experience I've ever had. Room was perfectly clean, comfy bed, heated tile in the bathroom. Everything from start to finish felt luxurious and cozy. Morning breakfast is beyond delicious and the room service team is on point. Hard to imagine a better experience. I will only stay at the Drisco when I visit SF.
We choose the Hotel Drisco because it was one of the top hotels in San Fransisco on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. I notice a review has only given it 3 stars because there was no bathtub in their room? We checked ahead as a bathtub was a main priority for us also, we were allocated a room with a tub no problem. It's worth an email ahead rather than leaving a poor review surely? The staff at the hotel were second to none, big shout out to Edwardo who was there to sort out our bags the minute we arrived and although we were early checking in, it was not a problem we had access to our room straight away. Katherine in the cheese and wine lounge also went above and beyond, I'm not a great fan of wine but she went out of her way opening several bottles until she sourced one that I found enjoyable, also, the food in the lounge for breakfast and the evening wine and cheese was delicious and plentiful. Our room although not massive, was lovely with everything we needed and more, with a large and very comfortable bed. There is nothing more to add that hasn't already been said about the Hotel Drisco, you will feel very at home here and will not be disappointed. We also met some lovely people who were also guests at the hotel which only added to our wonderful experience.…
The Hotel Drisco Pacific Heights in San Francisco, a Woodside Hotel Group property, is housed in a gorgeous estate building constructed in 1903. The Drisco perfectly combines traditional elegance with the convenience, comfort, and amenities of a world-class modern hotel operation. The genuine warm hospitality, inviting cosy atmosphere, and truly impeccable service are designed to please business and leisure travelers (incl. families with kids) alike. The hotel is wonderfully located in the calm and beautiful residential Pacific Heights area in San Francisco (for the European traveller think of London's Hampstead Heath or the 16th arrondissement in Paris), above the city but still in proximity to everything the city has to offer. Awesome areas to walk around and explore but please keep in mind it is still San Francisco and the streets are steep if not used to it. Plenty of free and safe parking available if you travel by car. The hotel also offers a free car service on a first come, first serve basis to certain close by areas in town in the morning. Free rental bikes incl. electrified bikes are also available (most certainly helps with the streets of San Francisco). Check - in and check- out was was very friendly, efficient and professional. The well appointed, clean and fresh smelling junior suite with a connected room for the kids were overlooking the Bay and city areas. Numerous large TV sets with international programs, tea cattle and coffee maker (Nespresso machine with plenty of capsules) in each room. Plenty of space to hang and store your clothes, sit on couches and chairs to relax and desks to work and or organize your days. Sufficient power outlets available incl. wireless phone chargers. Closet amenities include a safe, long-handled shoehorn, clothes brush, garment bags, shopping bags and slippers. Unsecured Wifi was working strong throughout our 5 day stay. Beds were extremely comfortable with solid menu choices of pillows. Rooms are very quiet and therefore provide a great relaxing and rejuvenating feel the next morning. Bathrooms with marble heated floors have decent size for the age and blueprint of the house. Water pressure in shower is good for a higher floor room. Some people might miss a tub, but as a pragmatic eco friendly traveller, I always prefer spacious showers over bathtubs. Towels are fluffy, plentiful and smell nice. Bulgari and Biggelow bath amenities are provided. Housekeeping and Turn-down service doing a flawless job. Rooms service and offerings are great, of high quality and fairly priced. Laundry and dry cleaning is outsourced to a terrific local shop with speedy turnaround. Concierge is old school with great ideas and tips and can make things happen. Fitness room might be considered on the smaller side but contains a Peleton bike. I believe if you miss a SPA, Pool and or larger fitness equipment you would choose a different style hotel in the first place. Delicious continental breakfast starting at 6am (!) is available with made to order omelette selection and fresh hotel owned honey from the two bee colonies on the roof, unfortunately no bacon and or sausages available (yet). Wonderful evening California wine reception with cheeses, charcuterie, fresh fruit available every evening from 5-7pm. All the staff we encountered during our stay were very friendly, customer & service oriented and very professional. As a family, we really enjoyed our stay at the Drisco Pacific Heights and we are already planning our next trip back :). GM John Spear and his team can be really proud of their hotel and the provided product, a job well done.…
Hotel Drisco is a salve to the chaos that can be San Francisco. Its located in peaceful, Pacific Heights among some of the most gorgeous homes in the city. Pluses: -Very quiet, clean, and elegant rooms -Spectacular views if you're up on a higher floor -Intimate, easy hotel to navigate with pretty good service Negatives: -No bath? We had a two bed, two bath sweet and neither bathroom had a tub which, when traveling with a toddler, is a problem. -Parking. Parking can be difficult anywhere in SF and this is no exception. There's no valet so you're pretty much on your own. If you have limited mobility, its also worth nothing you will likely have to park, at some point, downhill of the hotel. There is also a 3 hour max during the day so you'll have to move your car. -Clearly the staffing shortage has gotten to Drisco hotel as well. At one point, the women at the front desk (alone) had 5 people waiting to talk to her while she was taking a room service order on the phone. -Housekeeping knocked on our door (which had a do not disturb sign on) at 6:30AM waking us up and when I didn't get out of bed and answer the front desk called and told me that I had requested something from them ( we were all asleep so that was incorrect). A loud knock at 6:30AM that wakes us up docks major points in my book. (and was my decision to do 3 in stead of 4 stars here).…
Not having been to SF in over a dozen years (I know, my bad) I needed to find a hotel in a specific area. Enter Hotel Drisco Pacific Heights. One of the most beautiful neighborhoods in SF. I got a city view room and while not super large, it was very well appointed and supremely comfortable. Bathroom WAS huge. The hotel is lovely and intimate and one feels very much at home here. There are so many pluses to this property: The evening wine tasting, the incredible breakfast offerings that are included in the room (very European), the tea/coffee/tiny snack offerings always present in the drawing room and a small but very well equipped gym that has everything you need for a full and complete workout. There's even a Peleton. The rooms have filtered water and huge (glass) water bottles that are the guests to take. While not inexpensive (including taxes it was around $750/night) it's worth it for a splurge.…
