Front desk worker did not care at all that I found blood on my sheets. He would not refund my money after such a disgusting experience. The entire building smelled so bad.... it smelled like curry and expired fruit.
Don't do it to yourself it was the worst place i have ever stayed. The rooms are filthy, shared bathrooms with the whole floor you are staying on. We were wished 'good luck' to other guests in the hotel while we were checking in... I wore shoes when I was in the shower. A morning when I was leaving the hotel the cops were in the hotel and had the hotel surrounded over an incident that occurred involving the receptionist..
Booked up here with my partner very short notice after our air b n b fell through. No where else in San Fran you can get this reasonable. Shared bathrooms which are adequate. The beds are about the only thing that gets cleaned in the room however. Years worth of dust has collected and never been cleaned. If you need somewhere cheap to suffice for a few nights and San Fran this is more than doable. Reception guy is really nice too!
Do not stay here. I'm saying this as a person who can tolerate a lot for a cheap hotel. There are a lot of things I can tolerate. 1) The very rude, un-welcoming reception person 2) the semi not-clean shared bathrooms 3) The extremely old curtains, which should be replaced when they "renovated" 4) the sketchy white people hanging in front of the door during the night, asking me questions about my life. 5) The noise and smoke that filters up from the bar down stairs (btw had the rudest bartender I've ever met) 6) the screaming people outside the window constantly 7) the extremely scratchy out dated bedding. What I can't stand is bed bugs. Although I'm not 100% certain there are bed bugs I woke up with 20 + bites on my body. When I called the desk to get a refund it honestly sounded like this has happened before and he was un-caring. DO NOT STAY HERE. Go to the Mosser. It is the same price, maybe a bit more expensive, on the better side of town, soft sheets, very friendly staff, and NO BUGS.…
Dark, dirty, noisy, very bad service, shared bathroom... (dirty bathroom)... Very old-fashioned decorated... The corridors are like in "The Shinning"... The surroundings are full of homeless... Not very secure area, even being close to the down-town business center... I won't be back.
Dirty, Blood on the ceiling, black hand spots on the doors, 1 cm Dust on the plinths, heating and so on so on. The cleaners think they can get away with only making the beds and give you clean towels for years and years....is my opinion.
I came here for business and booked last minute. Hotel prices seemed expensive but this place was really reasonable. I made a huge mistake not paying attention to user reviews on the booking site I used and instead went on the pictures, price and location. I will never forget this "hotel" for as long as I live. On the first night I got there I was so tired from a long day of travelling. I went straight to bed and crashed for the night. My first impressions of the hotel were... Mmm this place is a little manky but screw it, it's a bed and a roof over my head. What else do I need? I was a little pissed about the shared bathroom situation but thought it's manageable. I know people who have used these before. no biggy. Next morning I got up early and headed off to work. When I got back home I was again tired and decided to go to bed early and watch some TV. It was then I started noticing things. Stains on the mattress cover sheet, hairs on the quilt which weren't mine. Dust everywhere. Even the TV remote was gross. Oh and there as no maid. When I got back to the hotel nothing had changed. Bed wasn't made even. So I decided screw this and called the booking company and explained the situation and they were able to cancel my next 2 nights stay there and refund my money for those next 2. I stayed that again that night but slept with my clothes on because I was terrified that there were bed bugs. I didn't want to check though, I couldnt sum up the bravery to pull off the sheets. The next morning I had to wait to use the shower and when I got an after the previous guy, I was there for a few mins before someone started thumping on the door. I yelled at them "hey I'm in here" and they left. It was surreal. Oh yeah and one of the towels from my room had some brown stains. Small ones but stains none the less. Gross gross gross. I rebooked to there Herbert hotel for about an extra $200 and it was so worth it. Way nicer area and a really nice little room with my own personal bathroom! Yay So my advise to anyone considering booking this place...dont do it. Seriously. Unless you have literally no other option or you can't afford anywhere else just don't do it. And if you do have to do it, bring flip flops for the shower, bring a set of rosery beads and a crucifix and maybe some silver bullets. Seriously, that place was scary. The annoying thing is that the building from the outside and pictures does look interesting. My advice to the owners would be to give the place a deep clean. Paint the walls. Get new mattresses and hire some cleaners. Also, the front desk is so weird. I could go on and on about this place actually so I'll stop. I've said enough. I hope you get the point !…
South market is near from all the fashion places in San Francisco but this hôtel is off limit for many reasons, If you like the fifties ambiance you are ok, otherwise don't come, the price doesn't correspond to the service ! ! ! !
My advice to anyone thinking of booking this accommodation is 。。。。。。。 don't!! The low price (low for San fransisco) is appealing, however, the unhygienic cost of staying here is not worth the saving. The hall looks and smells as if there have been no regular cleaning staff employed since the turn of the century, its has quite clearly not been.hoovered or dusted in years. The dust in rooms is up to a cm thick on windows and fans, the rooms facing the street are incredibly noisy, the employed staff live in horrifically squalid shared quarters within the establishment and share the same toilets\shower rooms as the guests. It is located in a fairly deprived area of sanfran, though it is near the financial area, around a 15 minute walk to Montgomery. The area appears to be undergoing regeneration, though i felt quite unsafe here. Homeless people often congregated near the hotel, and people set up their tents/homes across the street. Worst of all, i believe this place also suffers from a bed bug infestation. We had booked for three nights, though after the first night my brother started to notice small, itchy, raised hive like spots on.his arms, it wasn't until we checked the beds and found stains.often left by bed bugs that we realised what these mystery bumps were. After our disgusting discovery we then had to fight with the hotel 'manager' to cancel our booking and refund our additional nights. He would not refund the night we stayed here. Please, demand a higher standard for what you are paying and refuse to stay here until this establishment can meet US health and saftey standards.…
My experience of this dump will haunt me for the rest of my life. I arrived from England from a 12 hour flight, exhausted and hungry. It's my first time in SF but I didnt feel good about how the area where the hotel is looked whilst in the cab. I didnt care though I was so so tired and just needed to sleep. Arriving at the hotel door I discovered some woman sat on the floor next to it, smoking away. Again, whatever - wasnt expecting the Ritz for what I paid. After being buzzed in, my hopefulness was starting to wane. Immediately I was hit with an overwhelming pungent smell - like urine-y and musty. The place looked like it was going crumble any minute. The carpets were stained and disgusting and to top it all off, the lighting was an off-putting yellow with a green tinge. The stuff of horror films. I checked in and entered my room and, after looking around, I burst out crying. I was exhausted in a strange city late at night and just didnt feel safe or comfortable. The room was freezing with no option for heat. The sink only trickled water out so couldnt wash my hands and face properly. I checked out the shared bathroom and there was no way I was going to use it. Back in my room, I told myself its just 2 nights - after that I would be meeting my boyfriend somewhere more upmarket and central. I got in to bed and tried to ignore the drilling outside when I felt something crawling on me - I jumped out of bed and turned on the light and - my worst fear realised - there were multiple bed bugs crawling around. Again, I was so distressed I cried again. I had no other options but to stay here the night. My boyfriend was in a place with no wifi so couldn't contact him until the following day when he would get me a nicer hotel and by this time it was like midnight. I had to sleep ok the cold wood floor with nothing but a towel on top of me and lay there crying. I checked what time sunrise was (6:45) and basically lay there on the floor for 6 hours with a pounding headache from being dehydrated. I was too scared to leave my room incase I encountered anyone dodgy and there was no way I was entering the street. So after pretty much traveling all day from England I hadnt slept, eaten a hot meal or showered for 30 hours. I felt like an animal. I was freezing on that floor. Somehow I managed to survive the night and left the Hell hole at first light, leaving the key at the dodgy reception. My boyfriend finally got all my messages and immediately booked me into the Westin in Union Sq where I am writing this from, from a nice cosy clean bed in a lovely safe part of town. I dont have a lot of money and know lots of people don't either but save for a little longer and spend more comfort, convenience and peace of mind. Its just not worth it. This is a big life lesson learnt. I dont know how this hotel are able to operate under these conditions. I remember lying there thinking that I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. You couldnt pay me me to stay there again. I am well and truly traumatised.…
