Some of the worst customer service I’ve come across. Shocking. No sign of a manager. No one had any clue. We had constant problems with the bathroom and toilet. Had to use communal, promised a partial refund for the inconvenience but nothing. Absolutely disgusted!
You get what you pay for at this hotel. Reasonable price, great location, no major issues except quite a noisy area. But that is just San Francisco for you. I would recommend bringing ear plugs. Also the rooms can be uneven, and on a bit of a lean. You might need to figure out which end of the bed to sleep, is on less of a lean. Had a good stay overall.
Pro: The location as you are near Chinatown and SFMOMA but that’s about it. There’s television set that has 3 channels only, which was fine. Wifi was okay. Cons: The room was slanted! Literaly, I’d get dizzy walking around the room. The carpet floors smell terrible. One of my pillow cases had a stain, and the pillows were not comfortable. There was also some sort of bugs crawling up the bed. I got the room with a private bathroom. Bathroom was clean (thank God). The closet had mismatched hangers (includinga broken one). There’s only 1 window which I suggest you keep the curtains covered so you can’t see the other guests/rooms. I had a hard time sleeping since I’d open the window to let the air in but I could hear the person from the next room snoring since their window was also open. The elevator was terrible and the personel at the front desk don’t even help you open the elevator door. I chose to take the stairs instead which were narrow amd dirty (could see popcorn on the floor). If you really must choose to stay here, stay with a friend. Although I stayed alone I didn’t feel entirely safe or comfortable. Not going to stay here again. *If you watched The Shining, that’s what the hallway and bathroom looked like. I have no pics of my actual room cause it was that terrible.…
Can’t fault this for location. A block and a half from Union Sq. However this building is OLD which means no form of cooling or heating. It was 100 degrees F in the city and we were on the top floor. Sauna. Room tiny (double, not queen) and the toilet blocked. Staff were pleasant and there was free wifi which worked well. A really mixed experience but given we couldn’t sleep for the heat, only 2 stars. Ask for a lower floor room if you decide to stay.
I was attending a conference in downtown San Francisco. The hotel is in walking distance, with very competitive price. Before the booking, I was concerned about the cleanness issue, but by checking the reviews, it looked OK to me. However, my fear came in true. Check out what I got during my visit. It is terrible!
