Color me skeptical...opinionated. The Club is a Superlative location on Nob Hill. Check in at 4 pm and all four parking places were taken at 4:10 pm. Really? What does one do with their car? Fairmont Hotel parking available for $60.00 Really? Creaky floors, paper thin walls, and time travel (dated) rooms. Thin towels. Rock hard pillows. Lovely bar- old...

This building was built as a gentlemens' club over 100 years ago, and has amazing rooms and décor, wood panelling and ornate ceilings in abundance The lodging rooms are sometimes available for non-members The room I had needed redecorating really, and a window would not close. The staff helped me to close it, and I am fine with non-mint rooms...

A very interesting place to stay in SF. We found our room modest and comfortable. Our bed was the highlight, we both slept well! The breakfast was ample and the coffee was great with awesome views of the city. This was really a no frills sort of place but the building itself is incredibly charming in a great location. For...

If you've ever wanted to step back in time and stay at a 1930's era hotel, this is the place for you. The Club is an old money, old style, bare bones and very unique spot. I took a room for several nights and felt I'd moved into a Bogart movie. Creaky stairs; wooden paneling; dark oil paintings; sparsely furnished...

I was there to visit people on business and they have a great location. The rooms are nice and the ambiance of the building is Rich San Francisco. The Cable Car stops right in front. The staff are lovely people and very cordial

What a treasure. The locale, the staff, the amazing rooms! If you are lucky enough to stay here, enjoy the superb views from the 4th floor balcony. Such a great experience! One cool tidbit is that there is a cable car stop right outside the front door. Love San Francisco!

Nice location on Nob Hill but except for helpful evening receptionist Derrick (?) & a good diner that's the positives. Room was specious but musty and drafty with no heat -- seriously winter in the City with no in-room heating. We were there for a group meeting scheduled to go to noon. Staff refused to allow 12:30 check out at...

Like most club residences this one has the same pluses & the same minuses. Great location, reasonable/moderate prices (reciprocal club members do not get same advantageous pricing as de jure members), good basic fare food & drink & most impressively a friendly, welcoming staff. Then there are the bedrooms with limited electrical outlets, poor reading light, cumbersome furniture that could have...

We had a nice stay at University club. Though the club can be improved a lot in terms interior and decorations. Its a bit old fashioned or rather a historic type. Located between Union Square and Fisherman Wharfs makes it a bit noisy. Overall pretty nice stay as public transportation is available nearby.

The reviews for this property tend to fall into two categories: "Historic and Charming", and "Worn and tired". The common areas are a little of both, but my room was clean, in good repair, and attractive. The furniture was a bit old, but the bed was quite comfortable, the linens and towels were all fine, and it was please. I...
