Such a beautiful building that has had ZERO invested in it and you can tell. The rooms are disgusting having not had any investment in decades. The club is closed Sat-Mon, so no options to eat or drink.
Don't bother wasting your money. Go stay...More

Thanks for your review. The Club is old and has been at this location since 1910. We do our best at keeping the club clean and as up to date as possible. We are closed on Sat-Mon to keep up with the routine maintenance. Yes,...More
Old glory! Too bad that they have not invested more in this historical building, it has such potential. Having said this, service is very good, rooms are (old) but spacious. No air conditioner. Biggest challenge is street noise (street cars) when you leave windows open...More

Thanks for the review . We will be adding additional guestrooms in the near future and plan renovations on the property. Will not touch any historical areas of the building but only enhance the look.
This is a good alternative to costlier places to stay in SF. It Is not well appointed, could stand a little refurbishment. The staff are wonderful, very helpful and accommodating. The "breakfasts" leave a lot to be desired. Fortunately the St Francis has a little...More
After a week conferencing in San Jose, I spent the last night and morning in San Francisco, staying and eating at the University Club. Ambiance was fantastic; very classic without becoming over-the-top. Very nice top-floor bar/restaurant with a cosy terrace with a view over the...More

I am sorry for the problems you incurred at the Club. I remember you since it is such a small place and the pizza in the lobby I wish I would have heard about this when you were here. I will do some...More

As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands,
tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
