The room was freezing cold and the heater in the room had no controls. Could not call the hotel and speak with anyone. Sent many messages through Airbandb and was ignored since we checked in. Also the code to enter the building plus the code to enter the room was way too complicated. We had to use a nap on our phone plus at the same time read a text message on our phone and input an 8-digit serial number on the door just to get it to open.
This hotel is close to China Town, Cable car, Market St, and all Public transport. Hotel Staff will help you with public transport routes and bus etc numbers. Hotel is quite Quirky, with every room artistically painted differently, and many artistic photos in hallways. The elevator is manually operated, breakfast only adequate, a nice bar on reception level, that turns into a nite club in the evenings. For this reason ask for a room on a higher floor, we were on the 1st floor and the doof doof music kept us awake till 2:Am. Over all we enjoyed the hotel, it was not cheap, but try and get somewhere else in San Fran at this price with a great location.
With the corona virus outbreak and California declaring a state of emergency I had to cancel a business trip. I spoke to the hotel directly and they refused issue a full refund which is shocking. The women I spoke to was extremely rude. Having stayed at the hotel several times before I was truly shocked at them being so rude and unhelpful. I will never stay in this hotel ever again and warn people to do the same.
It was much better than we expected, the room was very big; in fact it was a double room, very spacious (room 310) on the third floor. The bed was very comfortable. We thought it would be loud, but it wasn't, but don't stay on the second floor as there is a night club on the first floor and it can be really loud. We requested a top floor by email two weeks before arriving. It was nice to get free breakfast, very basic but does the job and saves you some $$. The staff, specially in the mornings (in particular a lady with glasses that also speaks Spanish) was really helpful and very welcoming. The room was also very clean, and the hotel well located.
Stayed here for a week with two friends. I'll start with the positive things this hotel had. Great location, the neighborhood seemed safe and had plenty of restaurants nearby. Across the street you could see the Dragon's gate entrance to China Town. You could get in less than 10 minutes (walking) to the Moscone Center. Union Square is just a couple of blocks away. It includes the most basic of breakfasts: either a bagel or toasts with cheesecream, butter or jam. They also had apples and oranges, orange and apple juice, oatmeal and coffee and tea,, but that's basically it. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean, it had one small room with the bathroom, a small closet and a sofa bed and one room with a full bed and a handwash. The cleaning staff worked daily and I have no complains over the cleanliness. The staff was pretty cool too, they had great manners and were very helpful. Now, the negative part is that our room was in the second floor and there's a club in the first floor, son on friday and saturday sleeping was a nightmare, everything vibrated and there was heavy noise until about two or three am, they don't specify that on the website. I would go back since the price seemed right for what we got.…
