The people at this hostel are so friendly that it feels like a family. All the booking was very easy and also very flexible. Even if I wasn't there often, I got involved into fun activities with other travellers, like preparing a christmas tree. Thank you! :)

My new goal in traveling: be around people. I could stay in some colorless chain motel in the 'burbs, but I wanted a taste of downtown living. This place was a hoot. Sixteen guests, most from other counties, all traveling around and seeing the world...and several friendly staffers too. Just for reference: compared with the other denizens, I could be...

From the moment that I stepped into this hostel it felt like I was among friends. It's a fairly small hostel, but that is one of the reasons it has such a great vibe. You can take part on the group activities that vary by day. Staff is great and they really make you feel welcome. Communal area is quite...

Really awesome place, an amazing atmosphere with excellent amenities and just the most welcoming vibe I've ever experienced in a hostel! There were two impromptu performances by world class musicians in the common room whilst i was there, and there's all ways exciting and interesting things happening, with PTW as the epicentre. I turned up in san fran with no...

I chose Pacific Tradewinds in San Francisco due to the good review and location. In the end, they were below the reality: not only are they well located (close to all transportation services, close to market Street, Embarcadero..., safe neighborhood for a solo girl at night), but also are the staff amazing, friendly, always willing to make you as happy...

A nice hostel in central San Fran, close to buses and trains and walking distance from pier 39, Coit tower and Union Square. Rooms are decent but small, all luggage goes under bed which is occasionally frustrating when you keep having to pull out your bag. Also unless I missed something there are only 2 toilets, one on each floor...

I've stayed in so many hostels all around the world, but this place was definitely at the top of my list. Everyone is super friendly, except for those few who waste the water....The little things are amazing here like getting your dirty socks washed each night for free and unlimited pb and j sandwiches! I would definitely recommend this place...

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
