We visited San Fran in 2012, prices for accommodation have clearly gone up since then and it is very difficult to get any room with a private bathroom for less than £50 per night, this hostel is in a very central location, it is true there are a lot of homeless people in the vicinity of it, but we were...

We arrived during the day, and I'm sure that if we arrived during the night, we wouldn't have stayed for the time we did. The area is just awful and feels very unsafe. Homeless people sleeping on the street and raging drug addicts constantly screaming. We had a room with a view at an alley, but had to swith after...

Very convenient central location, only 3 min walk to the Powell sub station, cable car stop, shops and restaurants. The Fishermans Wharf only 20-30 min walk. You will notice homeless people constantly sitting on the street around the hotel but do not be scared, they are harmless. I was walking back to the hotel around 22:30 every evening and never...

Nothing positive to say. I usually find plenty to praise for my reviews but this one bucks the trend. Noisy, dirty, intimidating area. Only stayed as, on the night I visited, there was nothing else available. For $75 I wanted better. One definitely to avoid at all costs.

Not a very nice area- prostitutes, drug addicts and homeless people on the street outside. Very noisy if your room looks out over the street. We got woken up early in the morning by the garbage truck street cleaner and people coming out of the pub accross the street. However the owner kindly moved us to another room when we...

Booked here for 2 days, rang up a day before to confirm our booking and then employee who answered the phone was incredible rude to us, repeatedly asking if we even speak english. He was actually so rude to us we told him to cancel our booking.

The street is definitely not the nicest of San Francisco, and there are indeed some homeless (and harmless) people around - but the hotel is situated literally a two minutes walk from Market Street and all its shops, so I wouldn't say it's dangerous. The room where we stayed was absolutely clean, as well as the restrooms, and the staff...

I have been to many places around the world and never felt really unsafe. Until I checked in to this hostel. We were attracted by the place and the what appeared to be a perfect location on the map but were not aware that the Tenderloin district is in fact a ghetto. We saw the homeless peeing against the parked...

“Room 5 sucks. It is on the right side of the hall. I don't know if all rooms on this side have windows facing the loud, noisy court yard. If I had to stay here again I would try a room on the left side of the hall.,”
