Recently stayed for four nights. We were disappointed with a few items. The portable heater in our room sounded like a jet taking off. When we asked for a replacement they said they would check but never got back to us. The complimentary breakfast was lovely when we learned about it on our last morning. The staff never informed us...

We stayed four nights at this boutique hotel close to the Hayes district in San Francisco. All the positives...lovely comfy bed, great location with easy to access transport (San Francisco public transport is absolutely terrific), nice complimentary breakfast and freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Although our room was tiny it was well laid out with its own bathroom plus...

The ONLY thing we enjoyed about this boutique hotel is the location. The front desk staff was pleasant enough when approached, but disinterested for the most part. Bare minimum amenities, plus we had to ask for replacements (shampoo, towels) more than once. It would have been depressing if we spent more time in the tiny rooms. Nice neighborhood with plenty...

My wife and I stayed for five days. Our room was a studio that was smaller than most hotel rooms. In essence, they took a small hotel room and ripped out the closet to put in a tiny kitchenette. A tiny cabinet served as a closet and chest. It was so small that we never bothered to unpack. A plus...

We come to SF every year for an extended weekend in Sept or Oct, and since we use our timeshare, we always stay at either the Inn at the Opera or The Donatello. Both have their good points but the Inn at the Opera wins out for the staff and the quiet at night. The rooms are comfortable and clean,...

It is a rare experience to be able to stay in a place that lives and breathes history yet with modern comforts in this bustling and beautiful city. This is a boutique hotel located in the arts district of San Francisco- 5 minutes walk from the Symphony Hall

Good location if you walk out the front door and turn left - Hayes Valley gentrified area with cute upscale restaurants and shopping and a nice bakery. Out the door to the right are homeless unfortunates that we all sympathize with..... This is near City Hall, not near downtown which may be a consideration. Great proximity to Asian Art Museum,...

We exchanged our timeshare for a week in San Francisco in order to visit family there. What a surprise to find a room like a postage stamp. The window rattled all night, and there wasn't any heat. They finally fixed the window on the third day and brought us a space heater. Despite the room, we had fun exploring the...

I stayed at the Inn last week the night before I departed San Francisco. It's a very quaint boutique style hotel which is more like a B & B. The rooms are very small but the bathroom was huge. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a microwave and fridge and the complimentary bag of popcorn was a nice touch!...

We were only in San Francisco for 3 days and the Inn at the Opera reminded us of a boutique European hotel. You really can't compare it to an upscale chain. The rooms are somewhat small. Although, our room had a sitting room, an other room with a fold out couch and full bathroom, queen bedroom with a full bathroom....

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
