The best things about this property are the location and the free parking. Just a few blocks from Fisherman's Wharf it is very east to get to all the touristy things San Francisco has to offer. Cable Car and bus connections are all within a few blocks and, if you're a walker, you won't even need the mass transportation. The...

Stayed for 6 nights in mid August. The major CON: Came home with bed bugs! Other cons - grimy, broken ice machine, free parking, but not enough spots available, and expensive for what you get. Again bed bugs! The postive is for the service - nice staff.

We would stay at The Columbus Motor again. The rooms were clean and neat. Did not hear any noise (room was in the back). The free parking was a big plus! The staff was very helpful. All good things......but the location! It was perfect. Everything was within walking distance. Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, cable cars, etc., it was great. And, for...

After reading reviews on Trip advisor, I booked the Columbus Motor Inn in downtown SF. Don't relay on the website for accurate room information. I checked on-line and the website said they were booked. I phoned the hotel directly and was able to make a reservation over the phone. We arrived late aprox (10 PM) and our room was ready....

The room was big and the queen beds were comfortable. There was a good view on Columbus Street. The furniture is not luxurious, but feels solid. The bathroom was a bit tiny but clean. The location is almost excellent: you just have to walk five minutes to go to the heart of North Beach, the italian quarter, full of restaurants...

I was at the columbus last december with my family and it was a very nice stay. Mr Oscar was always helpful on the front desk, giving us good tips about transportations and, specially, places to eat, all near and very good. This is a simple hotel, small, without the foolish things that make others expensive, at least in my...

This place was great for our purposes. San Francisco has very upscale, historical, beautiful hotels...this is not one of those. BUT, it is a really great value. The room is clean and large. The beds are comfy. We had a view of Coit Tower, the Transamerica building and the Cathedral and Bimbo's (next door) was not a noise problem at...

Stayed at the Columbus Motor Inn for one night after going to a SF Giants game at ATT park. Arrived early at 10:00 and our room was available so we checked in, left our car in the covered parking lot and took the bus which stopped in front of the motel to ATT ballpark. Staff was very friendly and helpful....

If you are thinking of doing attractions in the San Fran area such as Golden Gate Bridge, and or Alcatraz, this inn was in good walking distance of these attractions. The best part about this inn was parking was free! The rooms were in good conditions, spacious and there was a small dining table. I found the inn to be...

Great location, walking distance to mostly everything! Very spacious and clean room. Free parking. We had a room on the third floor and the view was very nice. Just loved staying here.

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
