We enjoy staying at this hotel, the location is great for a pleasant walk thru Downtown. The staff is great, the breakfast is awesome, the rooms are comfortable! Free wifi. We have made this hotel out choice for our several trips a year.

A unique, retro feel gives this hotel it's funky charm. It's clean, colorful, comfortable and friendly. The location is great for walking to a number of small restaurants and shops. Free off street parking is a bonus. The generous continental breakfast featured fresh local pastries and breads. The homemade cookies and cold lemonade in the afternoon were a treat after exploring...

We arrived with 2 young children from a long flight from London. The hotel room was set up with the sofa bed ready for the kids and the receptionist was very efficient - which was great as all we wanted was to get to the room. The location is great - close to many good restaurants. Breakfast is quite simple...

Great place full of charm! The only letdown was the breakfast area which is sparse and the pool which is small and cold. However we were happy with the friendly personnel and location. Would return! There is also nearby public transportation!

Our family spent two enjoyable nights at Hotel Del Sol. The location is convenient for walking, catching a bus, and driving. We planned our trip around a Giants game and thought we might stay closer to the ballpark. I'm very glad we decided on this location instead. It was an easy drive to and from the game and it seems...

When we stayed a year ago, we had a lovely room on the second floor, breakfast consisted of cereal, hard boiled eggs and bagels and the staff was friendly and helpful. This time we had a room on the first floor that appeared to be in the middle of a remodel, breakfast the first morning was bagels only, the second...

We were a little unsure when we got to the hotel because of its looks and location, but we were wrong. Get location to walk up to Union street and find some good places to eat. About a 40 minute walk to fisherman pier. Pool could have been a bit warmer, but my son still swam. Nice having cookies in...

Stayed here 1 night in a suite. Ground level was parking and you accessed the 2nd floor rooms by stairs or creaky elevator. The suite consisted of 2 small rooms - living area had a pull out & mini fridge and bedroom had 1 queen bed with mirrored closet ( bed was too firm for us). Each room had a...

This must have originally been a motel because it is shaped and laid out just that way. The good things about it: free parking, a decent continental breakfast (hard boiled eggs, pastry, toast, bagels, coffee, tea, orange juice and hot chocolate) and within walking distance to a bus line that takes you to most major areas in the city. Things...

I was a bit uncertain about this hotel before we arrived. But after reading other Trip Advisor reviews, I took a chance and am glad I did. It kind of looks like an old-fashioned motel but painted in bright mexican style colours. This theme carried over into the room. I was worried that the room would be noisy as it...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
