Friendly reception staff and a decent continental breakfast. The bed is also quite comfy. However the rooms are tiny and therefore feel claustrophobic. The shower is great though. I personally liked the lift with the wire mesh. Quirky.

So poor. Only staff were surly receptionists. Rooms were unclean - colleague found dirty handkerchiefs and I was not at all sure my bed linen had been changed since previous occupant. Asked to be moved from room 202 - so unspeakably noisy as next to laundry (I thought I was IN the washing machine) and waste piles from entire hotel...

I did not enjoy staying at this hotel. First of all, it is located just 3 blocks far from the SFO most dangerous city quarter with streets full of drunk homeless people who seemed to be on drugs. We tried to walk to the hotel from Market street but there were so many dangerous looking guys that we got scared,...

It is a old hotel. Good for one night staying. Old elevator looks not safe and it smells moldy. The room was without decoration, but the bathroom after renovation. Friendly staff. Don't go to the south of this hotel, the local said it is not safe.

I wish the rating was not average or very good. Its a solid good , but not average or very good. Lovely old building , not shabby at all. Room at front was small but good. More hanging space would be good. Very comfy bed. Nice little breakfast room. Wifi was ok , but not great. Just the noise from...

We booked the "penthouse suite" for one night just for an overnight "getaway" in a room with a Jacuzzi tub. It was exactly what we needed and reasonably priced at less than $200 for the night on a Sunday night. The Jacuzzi tub was great. The room was clean. The room could use some paint and the outdoor area was...

The lobby is small and simple but with excellent staff who is accommodating and polite. I was amazed by its elevator, which is an old style manual door back in the 60's. The room is small, but enough for you to move around and park your luggage. Its complete with amenities and oh.. the bed, so soft and comfortable. The...

Loved the look and decor of the hotel it had a classic american feel to it. Very clean and well kept room, the bed in particular was very comfy. Free wifi which was a nice touch and the complimentary breakfast on offer was very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Don't be put off if your ride from the airport takes you via the Tenderloin district en-route to this hotel. The Nob Hill Hotel is a real gem located on the cusp of Nob Hill and Tenderloin (the locals call it the tender nob area, which has a totally different connotation to a brit). The hotel is quirky and charming...

Surrounding hotels are over twice the rate. Nice room. Well maintained hotel. Courteous staff. The antique elevator adds to the experience. This is a hotel that holds the earth quake era style and appearance while being modern, clean and convenient to the Knob Hill area. We recommend it frequently. The parking rate is less than if you park your own...
