For in city value, this is an excellent choice. It is in a busy neighborhood with lots of restaurants within walking distance. It is easy to find; the parking is free and inside the structure. And the price is reasonable.
The free parking was one of the draws of this place as parking in San Fran is so expensive. The rooms were a little dated but nice and clean and the WiFi works great. We were offered an internal room, which had a view of...More
Most hotels in San Francisco are dated and this one is no exception. We knew that on booking, but they have looked after this hotel, it is clean and tidy, and we experienced good service. We had a double room, which was large for such...More
We were booked in for 2 nights at the Chelsea Motor Inn on Lombard St. Apparently Lombard St is famous for being the longest and most convoluted road in the world and is the most photographed for this reason. I can confirm that it is...More
We stayed here for the second time and liked it again.

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.
With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.

Each guest is allowed to park one car per room and we guarantee you can park on our private parking lot. All our guest cars will never park on the street. We do not guarantee a parking space and is on first come first serve. In case all the parking spaces are taken, you will need to double park the car and leave the keys at the front desk upon check in and it will be moved when there is a parking space available which only happens when all our guests comes with a car.
However, we strongly recommend not to come with a car to San Francisco because of heavy congestion and very expensive parking fees in the city. It is highly recommended to rent a car upon departure instead of parking your car during your stay.
San Francisco offers public transportation, well organized bus system, Uber/Lyft and taxi. Also many places are within walking distance from the hotel. There are a few buses going to the main tourist attractions and only a block away from Chelsea.
Many restaurants and boutique shops are within also within walking distance.
