We've walked by dozens of times, but finally stayed and glad we did!
Treated great from the minute we walked on property. The history and style once you enter the lobby was breathtaking. This hotel can't be beat.

One Nob Hill. That is the address of the Mark Hopkins-San Francisco and it speaks volumes about this wonderful hotel. Opened in 1926 this hotel lends its considerable presence to the City and serves as an elegant reminder of the spirit of San Francisco. It...More
The hotel room was very clean but very dated as was the hotel in general. I have stayed in much more modern Intercontinental hotels which I preferred. The location was good & staff all very helpful & friendly.
Can’t beat the prime Nob Hill location. Don’t miss the 360 degree view of the Bay Area from the Top of Mark. All the major sights are within walking distance or you can take the cable car right behind the hotel on Powell Street to...More
Stayed in San Francisco for a weekend during my US business trip and chose the Mark Hopkins over the other InterContinental as this is one of the 7 heritage hotels of the brand.

Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that
followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
