I spent 4 nights at the Palace. I booked a Deluxe room with a promotional upgrade to the next category. Before my trip I'd seen a few reviews with photos indicating views straight into a wall/gravelled corner of nothingness(!), so I reached out to Guest Services in advance and was pre-assigned a room with a view, as an apparent 'upgrade'....

I recently surprised my husband with a weekend in San Francisco for his 50th birthday. The Palace was just as described and exactly what I had hoped for. Making the trip even more memorable was the superior customer service we received from the Director of Front Office, Mr. Jake Lynch. Jake is the epitome of customer service - he ensured...

From the moment you walk in, the Palace Hotel is sheer luxury and old school attention to detail and comfort. It's history is abundant, and yet, the amenities and upgraded rooms provide a fresh, current experience. What a great way to feel like you just went to a European vacation without the flight! Thanks to all of the kind staff...

The Palace is stunning inside! Scott at check-in was extremely friendly and was able to get us a room right away even though it was quite early in the day. We had taken an overnight train from Portland and didn't have a great sleep so this was wonderful. We were on the third level and the room wasn't large, but...

I stayed here only one night on business, but I thought the hotel has a beautiful restoration of a historic building. The Garden Court is amazing and worth a visit. The room was comfortable and a decent size for a centrally located hotel. The renovation of the room was very nice and similar to some other Luxury Collection properties I've...

I stayed here with my friend and we both enjoyed every bit of the hotel. The hotel is like a heritage structure with fittings looking like 1800s. But they were grand. The chandeliers were awesome. The indoor pool is nice. The pool has glass ceiling. It overlooks the big buildings beside it. The rooms were spacious and clean. Toilet was...

This is a historic hotel and this can be certified as it is a member of Historic Hotels of America. As a part of Starwood Hotels, management and service are efficient. Rooms and communal areas are beautiful. Hotel is conveniently located, only few minutes walk from Union Square.

Stayed here for a night to enjoy a night in the city. Hotel accommodations were pretty good we started with tea cocktail drinks and just relaxed with a gorgeous view. In the morning we went to the gym and swam. Lovely indoor pool looking at sky scrapers. I've lived in the Peninsula all my life and is always nice to...

My second time here for a couple of after work drinks with the same colleague! I really like the glass dome, chandeliers and really comfortable arm chairs. It's modernised old world luxury with great service. Cocktails and wines are a bit pricey but as this is not a place to get roaring tipsy, I won't worry about the price. Oh...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
