The Palace Hotel has a great decor, it's a very luxury and stylish hotel. No wonder it was a part of the Luxury Collection Hotel. We have been told by the local that it used to be a Sheraton Hotel. It was a great transformation I must say. I like the neighborhood and the Montgomery station was right in front...

The property is in a great location in San Francisco. The building is amazing. The character and the history that is recognized upon entering the hotel. The staff is the best. The young lady that checked me in was efficient and very good - she checked me in, recognized me as a platinum member of their frequent travel program and...

The Palace Hotel is an excellent hotel close to everything in SF. It's central location allows for easy access to AT&T Park, Union Square, Chinatown, Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel itself is a classic design with beautiful rooms. The beds are comfy and the room was very clea. Excellent choice.

Definitely my best hotel experience to date, we found a deal for a few nights in a two double bed room and arriving at the hotel we were greeted with a very polite and enthusiastic doorman into a waiting hall tjat looked like a love child between henry VIII and bill gates on the first night there was some noise...

Grand older hotel with nice touch of luxury. Was great for a short 3 day business trip. Nice breakfast in the main lobby area and service was very good. Can be a bit expensive but most hotels in San Fran are.

I was wowed from the first step into the lobby...beautiful, friendly doormen, front desk staff are super professional and helfpul. I was quickly checked in and had a room on the 8th floor. It was very spacious, especially for San Francisco, and beautiful. The bed and linens were luxurious and super comfortable. The room came with a refrigerator (a really...

My wife and I stayed at The Palace for three nights while I had business meetings. The location is excellent: at the bottom of the hill and walking distance to the ferry building, high end shopping, several museums and downtown sites; easy taxi rides to the Golden Gate Bridge and others. The staff are all very friendly and and professional....

This is one of the old San Francisco establishments. Exquisite architecture and very clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel has an older feel due to the architecture so if you are looking for ultra modern, don't stay here. If you want a high end comfortable room...this is your place!

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
