I really liked our room, the bed was very comfortable. It's pretty close to other big buildings and if you're windows are open during the day people can look in from the adjacent offices. We didn't eat in the hotel because there are so good restaurants nearby. It's easy to get a cab or a private car to get to...

At a luxury hotel, we can only hope for the best of everything. While the Palace Hotel is a beautiful place to stay for a few days, sound proofing in the rooms facing Market St was lacking (and I was on a high floor too). A person screaming/ranting for a good 10 minutes on a Friday night was too close...

I love everything about The Palace Hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the lobby and the Garden Court are breathtakingly exquisite with its muted lighting and early 20th century decor. The food in the Pied Piper and Garden Court restaurant is yummy, the bed and pillows are comfy, and it's situated in a wonderful, centralized location --...

We live behind the hotel and sometimes book a staycation for a night or two to be pampered, do room service, watch "in-theater" movies in the room, use the gym, have breakfast and stay a night at this beautiful property - we are never disappointed. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern. The hotel is very central to everything...

The Palace Hotel has a great decor, it's a very luxury and stylish hotel. No wonder it was a part of the Luxury Collection Hotel. We have been told by the local that it used to be a Sheraton Hotel. It was a great transformation I must say. I like the neighborhood and the Montgomery station was right in front...

The property is in a great location in San Francisco. The building is amazing. The character and the history that is recognized upon entering the hotel. The staff is the best. The young lady that checked me in was efficient and very good - she checked me in, recognized me as a platinum member of their frequent travel program and...

The Palace Hotel is an excellent hotel close to everything in SF. It's central location allows for easy access to AT&T Park, Union Square, Chinatown, Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel itself is a classic design with beautiful rooms. The beds are comfy and the room was very clea. Excellent choice.

Definitely my best hotel experience to date, we found a deal for a few nights in a two double bed room and arriving at the hotel we were greeted with a very polite and enthusiastic doorman into a waiting hall tjat looked like a love child between henry VIII and bill gates on the first night there was some noise...

Grand older hotel with nice touch of luxury. Was great for a short 3 day business trip. Nice breakfast in the main lobby area and service was very good. Can be a bit expensive but most hotels in San Fran are.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
